From the moment I visited the Boulevard, I knew it was a caring, upbeat and friendly place. The staff is warm and welcoming. My room is cozy, clean and comfortable. My adjustment has been swift and with the help of friends I am making and staff, I am beginning to feel very much at home here.

My 87 yr old mom is living here and recently the facility found bedbugs in her bed and waited 2 days before moving her into another room. Her face was bitten by the bedbugs and the director and asst director did not get my mom medical attention and showed no compassion or sympathy when I asked them as to why she wasn’t moved immediately. I can honestly say they do not care about the residents there and you will be just a number if you put your loved one at the Boulevard Alp. After I spoke to the director as to why was my mother left there days after they found the bedbugs , he said he would investigate and never got back to me and my family . They don’t want to assume no responsibility for this incident . I was also told the place has bedbugs on all floors by the workers there . Boulevard Alp in Fresh Meadows is a terrible place with terrible workers who do not care for the elderly .

This is the Waldorf of funded assisted living in the five boroughs. Apartments really big with large bathroom & kitchenette. Lots of activities & caring staff that knows all 260 residents by 1st name & condition. Open door for speaking with senior staff, aide coverage great. Front desk does great stuff.

Boulevard ALP is phenomenal, and the people are unbelievable. This place is wonderful. Samuel, our executive director, is brilliant and super intelligent. He has like a magic touch. He works very hard. When I got sick, he was worried about me, and he came to my room a few times. Lisa, the Director of Case Management, is one tough lady and smart and knows how to handle people. I can't underestimate every one of the people in the front office or the nurses. My roommate got very sick and they came immediately and saved his life. Our doctor here is one of the best medical professors. The food is great. They had one problem with the beef and I told the chef "I think you got to change the vendor." He found a new vendor for supplying beef and that got rid of the problem. They listen. If you cannot do your job and you're not competent, you're gone. The waitresses are so wonderful that they have just about memorized things that I like. They are marvelous. Pat, the dining room supervisor, is phenomenal. It's gorgeous and clean. I have chronic fatigue syndrome and it's gone. Everything is so clean and sterilized. They went out of their way and went around wiping things down with like 12% hydrogen peroxide. Everybody is phenomenal. If they see someone is depressed or down, they care and they do something. When I didn't eat because I get very bad migraine headaches, they showed up with food. They made sure that I ate. I haven't found one person that's incompetent or didn't care about people. They all have empathy. Our executive director is one of the best I've ever seen. He's openminded and has high emotional intelligence. The Director of Case Management, Lisa, has super high emotional intelligence and intellect. Rosie, who is a case manager, and Alex were brilliant. Jacqueline, who's a nurse here, is phenomenal. People in the medical office go the extra ten miles. They care about people. They do it with action, not words. The building is only up since 2005, but they've already started putting down new carpeting in the building. Their new director of recreation, Matthew, is phenomenal. Even before he leaves at night, he goes around our conservatory, which is where we have a piano. There's a ton of rooms here. They have a library if you're Jewish and the secular library. We have our own synagogue, which is beautiful, but they also cater to other religions. It is home and they make you feel at home. They go out of their way to give you privacy, even though they have to check on you to make sure you're OK. They're very good at mitigating the spread of infectious disease. We have a wonderful resident here that does entertainment on Thursday nights. She volunteers her time. There are so many wonderful people here. Our dining room supervisor is wonderful. Elinor, our Director of Admissions and Marketing is responsible for bringing in the best people. Adam, our chief physician here, should be able to run for surgeon general, and Sam, our executive director, is so good that he should be running for POTUS. The place is magnificent.

We were very anxious trying to find a facility for our Brother. ALP was great and an easy choice. Elinor our main contact was very helpful, professional, and friendly. Everyone else was also helpful. Our Brothers first day went smooth and we know their will be a need for him to transition in, however we are very confident that the staff will help ease the adjustment period. Thanks to Elinor and all the staff.

My mom has been living in Boulevard ALP since September. My mom had always been very independent and insistent on doing things "her way." All of the staff have been very kind and understanding with her as she does her best to adjust. They have also been very patient with her when she acts confused and frustrated as she gets disoriented by the unfamiliarity of her new routine. The rooms are adequately spacious, and there is an overall pleasant and warm atmosphere.

Boulevard ALP was very good. They had all the facilities that my sister needed and that she could use. I liked what I saw. The personnel was very nice, even the lady where you park your car, they were just so nice and very welcoming. I like the atmosphere. They provide recreational stuff, housekeeping, and assistance with medication. It was very clean. The rooms were very nice. She could either take the 1-bedroom or the studio. She didn't have any complaints about anything. I like the location because it has a lot of things around there. It wasn't in a secluded place. They have shopping and restaurants. You could even just go and walk down to the park and get there for a little while. The location was good.

The facility is clean, spacious, and celebrates ALL religions. They cater to each resident's needs and requests if possible. The safety of residents is primary. And when Mom entered, we purchased an alarm which can be worn or looped onto her walker with no monthly fees. When she fell, an aide or two responded immediately. A nurse came up and portable Xray came that night. There are many daily activities, daily snacks, a beautiful solarium and garden, and rooms can be chosen as single or shared, with a private bathroom and shower with seat. Aides are available to help with daily dressing, weekly laundry, room and fridge cleaning. Administration keeps you informed with email or letters and the staff get you warmly. Residents are allowed to have visitors in their rooms, or sit downstairs with them. The facility has given our family peace of mind knowing how Mom is so well- cared for and respected.

We have chosen the Boulevard ALP for my parents because it accepts Medicaid and it’s close to my parent’s place. There are a few people who speak my mother’s native language, which is rare, and they are happy to see that. They have Tai-Chi classes, singing, and are allowing my parents to be DJs as they used to be DJs. They really like the people, even my father who is a tremendously negative person. The staff is very nice. The only issue we have is I’ve been wanting to get my mother on the internet and nobody is giving us a password; every time we ask, they say the internet is broken. They are really good about the food; they serve three meals and a snack every day. My mother said it’s so much that they can’t eat all of it. The meals are plentiful, and they're happy to have meals prepared for them. They have a nice dining room, like a hotel dining room. They actually gave me and my cousin dinner, too.

Boulverad Alp Associates looks like a nice place, but my aunt didn’t like it because it's a large community and she wanted a smaller environment. We took a tour of the place and it was very nice and clean. The apartments are slightly smaller, but it had a large bathroom, but unfurnished.

I chose Boulevard ALP for my mother because they take Medicaid, and she got her own apartment. She didn't have to share. The staff are excellent. Everyone have been so fabulous, the nurse, the doctor, the caseworkers, all the attendants. It's a really great place. The rooms are spacious, lovely, clean, comes with a little kitchen, no stove, just a microwave if they think that the person can handle that. It has a refrigerator and a sink like a little kitchen looking area, and it has a very large bathroom with a walk-in shower. They have a very clean atmosphere. There are cords to pull when there are any problems, but my mother has an attendant that helps her shower. I've eaten there many times. The food is Kosher, and it's OK. They have a chair exercise class. They do have exercise equipments there if people want to use a bicycle or treadmill. They have bingo, arts and crafts, current events discussions, cooking class every once in a while, movies, occasional entertainment, and therapy dogs that come in once a month.

Boulevard Alp is very good. The deal that I saw was one for a private room. What I don't like about it is that they allow guests in the room. I don't want to be in the entertainment business. In other words, I would like the guest to come in, and we could go to the gardens, or we could sit around in the lounges that they have and drink some coffee. The dining room is nice. I don't think it's as nice as the other facility, but it's nice and smaller. Also, they are all Hebrew. But there are hardly any men at the Boulevard, which I found a turn off for me. They are good, and I can only recommend it because I have spent a lot of time here.

My grandmother has been at the facility for close to a year now and she loves it. She needed to be moved because she needed care but at the same time her independence. When you enter the home, it looks and feels like a hotel. It is so clean and although they have nurses and aids on staff you do not feel their presence. She feels like she has her own apartment but at the same time help is close by. It really is a great place to go.
