I visited this facility

Brooklyn Adult Care Center is clean and everything inside. The staff was pleasant. The tour was good. They have a lot of activities. I looked at one of the rooms and it's nice. I think my mom will be comfortable there. For activities, they have a pool table. There's a patio where you can go out and sit. There's an activity room and a lady there, who was reading the newspaper. And then there are different games that they can play. The staff who gave the tour was very nice.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My sister has moved into Brooklyn Adult Care Center. So far, she's comfortable. She said that they treated them very well and every minute someone comes in and checks in on them. Every minute, someone will cross the corridor and knock on their doors to see if they're okay, which is very good. They have a big dining room area. They get to see the doctors there. They have a recreation room. They're free to come and go as they want there. If they want to go with their family, they can go but they just have to let them know that they're going out. The staff are very friendly and very pleasant people. They're very helpful. The meals are excellent. They feed them breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I visited this facility

At first sight, I didn't like the surrounding areas at Brooklyn Adult Care Center. There were cigarette butts all around the place before you came in. It wouldn't have been a good fit for my aunt. Not at all. The staff was very nice though, and the concept was very good, but it just wasn't what we were looking for. The activities were also very good, but I didn't like the rooms. They were too small for two adults to be in one room. They don't have enough space for their own personal things. The furnishing wasn't good either. The place needs a refresher, maybe a paint job or something. They showed me the whole place. I saw where the doctors were, and the physical therapy and all of that. That was a good thing that they have that deal where they give you medication. The problem I had was the furnishing, the area, and the type of people that were there.

I am/was a resident of this facility

Everything about this facility is horrible! The managers do not listen or care about the residents and people are always called to investigate complaints.

I visited this facility

I didn't like the atmosphere at Brooklyn Adult Care Center. There's a lot of residents hanging out on the street, which gives a bad impression. When you go inside, it's the same thing. They're all over the place. The place was well-kept, smelled nice, was clean, and well organized. It's just the hanging out and that environment that will shoo you off. The residents don't look that well. My friend felt very uncomfortable. The staff member did a good job. She was very knowledgeable and explained everything. She knew all the answers when we asked her any questions. The tour was excellent. The facility itself was nice and I was really impressed with how well-kept it was. It smelled clean and fresh and everything was in order. It's just that the residents hanging out and the environment that were the problem. I'm talking about at least 15 men and women, and when you go inside, they're not in their rooms.

I visited this facility

Brooklyn Adult Care Center was clean and well lit. The residents seemed happy, and it had a homey atmosphere. The grounds were well kept and nice, but the neighborhood was a little bit off because it's in an urban city, so that was expected. The rooms were well kept and well lit, clean, and spacious.

I visited this facility

Brooklyn Adult Care Center was a large facility. I thought it had about 5 floors and took a whole block. They would do your laundry. They provided medications. They had a large cafeteria. They served three meals a day. The meals were OK. The food was satisfactory. Everyone was very cordial and very nice. They had activities like playing cards. They had a pool table. However, there were a lot of residents hanging around the entrance.

I visited this facility

I didn’t like Brooklyn Adult Care Center; I don’t think it’s a place my sister would be happy. I really didn’t like the atmosphere. There were people in front of the building hanging around and smoking. It looked more like a shelter. The person who’s supposed to show me around wasn’t there. I saw a two-bedroom, and it was clean. The staff was OK, and we communicate with them pretty well.

I am a friend or relative of resident

I had an uncle who lived in a assisted living when i lived in new york. When we visited him he had a studio room and it was comfortable but some things were not working one hundred percent. The kitchen sink would spit the water out in burst a few times, the toilet had to be held to flush but it was a nice place in general. nothing bad about it really. There was also a nurse who stopped by and i appreciated her because she was very caring with my uncle and took care of him. As far as I'm concerned the building was in good shape and looked good to me.
