My Great aunt is a resident of this wonderful facility. My family and I visit her very frequently. The staff treats her like family. The recreation program is wonderful! She goes on Walks to the Beach, Trips to Olive Garden, Monthly birthday parties. Last month they had a WONDERFUL Independence Day BBQ. I’m glad we were able to find such a good place that was local for my Aunt.

Urine for breakfast Anyone??? Become a resident at Oceanview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and that may be case - at least that was my father's experience on Day 1! This so-called facility for "nursing and rehabilitation" is more like a pit for the Walking-Dead! The residents did not look sick and/or elderly but rather overmedicated and severely neglected. For example, when I arrived to visit my father on his first day, I was greeted by the lovely Receptionist in the picturesque and well-maintained reception area. However, just past that façade are a set of double doors and through those doors awaited a traffic jam of unattended wheelchair-bound residents and the stench of human excrement so strong my eyes watered. I tried to ignore the shock to my senses but the scenery became worse with every step. Further along, down the narrow hallway, I noticed even more unattended residents while "nurses" huddled around the nursing station talking each other. There were chairs and large janitorial units randomly parked in the hall, which I thought was dangerous. When I finally arrived at my father's room, I found him lying in the bed practically lifeless. He was shirtless, coverless and dehydrated because no one attended to him and the room temperature had to be at least 100 degrees! The bathroom was smelly and the furnishings were filthy and dilapidated but wait there's more! The coup de grâce, the reason I wrote this review, and the reason I personally discharged my father on Day 1, was when I noticed on his feeding tray, a cup filled with dark yellow liquid that the "nurse" insisted was apple juice but learned - after smelling it - that it was urine. Fortunately, it was his own urine...I hope. I realize that was a long "example" but there is no short way of describing the nightmare my father and I experienced at Oceanview Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. It has been two weeks since I removed him but this place and experience still haunts my dreams and daily thoughts. The upside of this experience is that I learned the value of researching nursing homes in advance, and as a result, my father is in a much better facility. My final thoughts and words of advice is to please take some time to do your research or at least remember this review and avoid sending your loved one to Oceanview Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, as this is no place for humans...or animals and should be shut down immediately!

My grandmother had a stroke and lived at this nursing facility for the duration of 10 years, I visited her on a daily basis. My family was not happy with the way things were conducted there, during her stay my grandmother has fallen out of bed several times and had a fractured arm and an ankle on two different occasions. It was clear that the staff did a poor job overlooking her safety because my grandmother was completely immobile on one side, therefore could not have fallen and suffered broken bones on her own. Also, many times she was restrained for no reason, simply because the nursing staff didn't want to be "bothered" with her slightest movement. The nursing staff didn't not change her soiled undergarments in a timely fashion which in turn caused irritation and infection. The nurses and CNA staff also handled her in a rough manner, often leaving many bruises on her already fragile skin. It was a bad experience and if it wasn't for my family overlooking my grandmother's stay at this facility on a daily basis she would have been either severely injured or died before her time. I would not recommend this facility.
