The Stonehedge Health and Rehabilitation Center was well run, with a very helpful and courteous staff. I was always greeted with a smile and many of the staff knew me by name, which was always a nice thing to know they cared enough about the family members of the resident to remember them. When dealing with the on-site staff, I found them to be well informed about what was happening, they always seemed to have the upmost concern about my grandmother and were very knowledgeable about what was going on in the building, as well as being keenly aware of my grandmother's medical needs. When I would stop by to visit my grandmother, the facility was always clean, well-kept and the residents seemed at ease and peaceful. Some facilities I've been to had a certain chemical odor to them, but that never seemed to be present at Stonehedge. The day rooms and living spaces were always immaculate and on the whole I found this facility to be a great fit for my grandmother.

Although my family felt that our close friend be at home for the end of his life, his family felt that this facility had an excellent environment with very helpful staff. He was sick with leukemia and they had plenty of medical equipment and staff to help him. Other residents, however, did not need such facilities. I found this to be an excellent component of the facility because it served a range of residents in terms of where they were in their lives and what they needed to keep them as healthy as possible. Staff was always around to make sure that he was eating properly, comfortable, had visitors, and ultimately happy. There were a number of activities that were going on, as well, especially for those that were in relatively good shape. There were social workers encouraging residents to participate in ice cream socials, games, and other similar social gatherings. Chittenango is a very small town and I found it to be surprising to find such a nice place as Stonehedge. I think the facilities had more than adequate staff and equipment to keep its residents happy and healthy as can be.
