Building is falling apart owner and property Management only care about collecting rents. If you have elderly loved one I would not put them in this place. They make the seniors remove their own snow from the sidewalks and satellite go out constantly. So-called maintenance is only available 8 to 4:00 Monday through Friday. Are not available afterwards or holidays

My experience living there was not a very enjoyable experience. Manager doesn't care about tenants. Many of the other tenants are complainers and drama filled.....quite dysfunctional too. Renter/Manager promises a lot before moving in but it didn't come to be afterwards. Building was an old renovated school but is falling apart. Vinyl siding blows off the building every time there's a windstorm. Every hallway has its own smell from other tenants apartments, sometimes you can smell urine in the hallways and it is not pleasent. There is a older woman who has mental disabilities who bothers you every time you pass her apartment when she's outside her apartment and should be put into assisted living but nobody cares. The owner doesn't seem to care much either about the quality of living. Just overall a bad living experience and I wouldn't recommend renting.

After reading an advertisement for this place I decided to rent : safe, comfortable, secure, and manager has a good rapport with tenants. Manager won't take the time to ensure quiet enjoyment of your apt (suggests you handle it); talks down to tenants as though we are idiots; has told a woman she is physically sick from complaints and suggested a woman install her own video camera to see who is stealing stuff from door. No video cameras so thief/thieves steal anything they can or want. Repairs are substandard and often have to be done over. There was multiple floodings in basement where storage lockers are. Tenants weren't informed of this and some suffered complete loss of belongings due to black mold on floors, partitions and all locker doors. (there is still mold on partitions and the ceiling). We have several hoarders that put all other tenants at risk (safety and health) and staff is aware. Elevators are filthy. Not #1 in activities. A visitor in the social room told several of us that the owner(s) has no compassion. Owner is not concerned with tenants safety, well being or health when he continues to ignore issues. If you want a safe happy home don't rent here.

The old saying "you get what you pay for" applies here. Low rent equals poor and unprofessional repairs. Do yourself a favor and rent elsewhere.

I chose Maryvale East Senior Apartments for my dad because the apartment is just the right size. It is on the ground floor with one bedroom, a very nice sized kitchen, and a huge bathroom. They also have a satellite disk, which is included for the first three months that he is there for free. They have package deals that the person can choose from that will suit their budgets. The electric bill is also included in their rent. It is in a very clean building in a big complex, which is essentially located near everything that he needs like shopping and doctor's offices. They have activities like bowling and bingo. They have trips to the casino, the farmer's market, and the town's park. They have movie days. The management is very friendly and attentive to the client's need. Any time a resident needs help, all they have to do is call. The maintenance guy is on-call 24/7. They also have a number for them to call in case of emergency. The other seniors are very friendly. I felt so comfortable that my dad is there. During our visit before my Dad moved there, he went inside the seniors' room and introduced himself, making friends with the people there. He is happy there and I recommend it to others.
