Brooklyn Boulevard ALP was very nice. I was surprisingly pleased with this place. It was very clean. The people were very friendly. The residents were nice, and the different areas that they showed were nice. I even asked, "How do we get in here?" because it has everything you need except a pool. It had a beauty parlor, a nail salon, a barbershop, and a little theater where you could sit and watch cable and movies and stuff. The rooms were very cozy and nice. The staff was very accommodating and very pleasant. They answered all the questions I needed answered. They told me what I needed and if there was anything else, that they would contact me with whatever I had to bring. They were very, very polite and nice. They took the time. They have a beautiful dining room and it's set up just like you're in a hotel. They have different menus and they had an activity chart up for what they do on any given day, so everything was mapped out. They had a lot of things to offer. They had a doctor on-premise, a therapist on-premise, a therapy gym, a game room where they can hang out and do stuff, and another hall where they throw little parties or get-togethers. It had everything. It was very nice.

Brooklyn Boulevard ALP was very good. They didn't offer memory care there, but the demographics of the population there would have been what my mom would prefer. She lived in Brooklyn at one point and more family was there. They were great. The rooms were clean. The eating facilities were clean. There was a lot of participation from the residents. If I could get her somewhere in Brooklyn, that would be a place I would go. The menus looked pretty interesting. There was a game room where people were playing board games. There was a gym, and when I was there, they were having a tenant governance meeting. People were coming and going and picking the residents up to go places. They had a board with a lot of different activities. I went there twice and both times, the visit went well. It was very clean and very bright. My experience and my mother's experience with them were great. She just changed her mind all of a sudden. The place was clean. I was able to tour the medical suite and that seemed very efficient. The residents seemed fine. No one was complaining. We ran into actually a couple and one lady was raving about the place. The residents themselves gave good remarks. The director was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Everyone seemed pleasant during the visit. They have a hair salon there and an activities room. They have a courtyard. Everything was clean. The rooms themselves were clean, and the bathrooms were clean. Some of the rooms have a little living room if it's a shared room and those were clean. Just by passing, when we were there, they were cleaning other people's rooms and they seemed to be doing a good job.

Brooklyn Boulevard ALP was so modern and they have so many activities. Everything was lovely. They have a hairdresser, a movie room, bowling, music room, and more. You name it, they have it. The only thing was, they only accept people with Medicaid, and my sister does not have it. The residents interacted with each other and some looked younger. So, there's a mixture. It didn't look like they were all 85 and 90 years old, and so it just gave me a different vibe. There's a little more excitement. I think my sister would like that place. They told me some kind of way where you can go apply for Medicaid, but it's a little complicated.
