My friend is presently at Evergreen Place. She seems to be thriving, so we will just let that be. She has been there for a year now. I like their dedicated staff. Very low-key, very accommodating, and very caring. One of the things that my friend loves to do is to go out for a short run. She's going to be 84 in a couple of days, so she's not doing any three-minute miles, but she goes out and runs around the perimeter. There is a little area there and there's a big pond in the back. So, nature is a big feature. There are geese and ducks, and then in the spring, there are ducklings and goslings. It's a beautiful pond, so she would go around there and see the ducks and go for her little walks or runs or whatever she chose to do. So that was very comfortable. My friend's room is medium size. It is just a studio, but it has a refrigerator, a sink and a microwave, and her own bath and shower. She can shower and use the bathroom by herself, so that's nice. Then there is a living area with comfortable chairs, a desk, a couple of bureaus for her clothes, a couple of closets, and closet storage for hanging. I have my reservations about Evergreen Place, but I think they're trying. For example, in the memory unit, they're looking for someone to be the director of that unit, so it's just run by the staff now, and that would be not so good. They try to do a good job, but I think they are limited in the activities they provide. The staff are dedicated. They seem to like their work, they seem to be devoted to the patients, and they are qualified. In terms of the facilities, it has just been redone. All the carpet has been taken out and replaced by wood floors. It's very clean, and they do a very good job. I have tried their food. It's good. It's basic. They have a chef who does the food for both memory care and the regular units. According to my friend, the food is good. She likes it. However, they don't have a lot of activities. They are working on that. They have an activities director for the main section. My friend is mainly interested in getting out and walking or jogging. She doesn't even watch TV shows in her room, so she is fine, but some people, they might want more activities. With regards to value for money, I think that they're fair in the prices that they charge for what they do, and then they have an adjusting scale for extra care.

I visited Evergreen Place - Brockport, NY. The food was excellent. They have a good chef. Everybody was friendly. The rooms were lovely. They were clean, bright, shiny, airy looking, and had very nice big windows. The staff was lovely. They even came to my house, picked me up in a handicapped bus, and took me. They had lots of services. I'm into crafts and they had a lot of that going on. They had field trips. They had a vegetable patch out in the yard and the seniors could go out there and pick a tomato if they wanted. I saw a place where they could sit down, do puzzles, and read books. They were giving shots that day. If it was based on the tour, I would give them the highest mark, but they're expensive, maybe the most expensive I've seen. Everybody's wonderful. The bus driver was a five-star too. The dining area had a table for four. There were lots of people there eating. When people were leaving, they stopped by and said hello. The facility was very good. I just can't say anything bad about it because they were excellent.

My grandfather was at Evergreen Place - Brockport, NY. They let him escape from the locked facility, and he made it outside and fell and hit his head and had to go to the hospital. That place is horrendous. I don't know if it's understaffed or they just don't hire anyone that cares. That is not a good place for someone with memory care issues and that's going to want to try to leave. I like nothing about it. They don't pay attention to their patients. He was there for three weeks because they kept sending him back to the hospital.

Evergreen Place - Brockport, NY was very nice, very clean, and bright. The girl who gave us our tour was very helpful and gave us a lot of information to consider. She walked us through the whole facility. The rooms she showed us were very nice and very clean, and they were all private and very spacious. They had quite a library of books, and they had a game room with a pool table.

I went to Evergreen Place - Brockport, NY last month. I like the fact that the residents seemed actively involved, cause they were out of their rooms, either in the general living area watching TV, or they were playing a game of bingo, they were getting up a large screen set up for some kind of online games. They seemed to try to cater to people with memory difficulties such as Parkinson's, which is what my husband has. I just like the way that the residents were actively involved in activities. It was all on one floor which I liked, they were getting some renovations done, so they were replacing flooring. The rooms were a little bit smaller than some I'd seen in other places but adequate, I guess. It had an older look to it. The tour guide was very good.

Evergreen Place (Brockport) is a very clean place, the people are very friendly, and if you have any questions, they answer you right away. My friend says their food is very good too. She's doing physical therapy and occupational therapy right now. The place is very clean and there are no smells, that's very important. Her room is the perfect size for an elderly person. The location is in a college town and there's shopping nearby.

It appeared nice. The staff during the visit was very helpful, very forthcoming, and very nice. The apartments were good sized, and the residents get to do whatever they want with them and make it their home. The dining area was very pretty and had a formal side to it, but it's inviting and looked comfortable, and the setup was good. There was one room where people were playing bingo, and there were people sitting in a lobby type area.

My mother will be moving in. When I went to visit, I got a very good feeling about the place. Amy took us on the tour and I absolutely loved her energy and her enthusiasm. She's been wonderful. Anytime I call, they bend over backward to accommodate us. It's beautiful and it's very clean. I like the fact that she's moving into an apartment, not just a bedroom, because she still is very high functioning even though she's going to be 88. She was very positive about the fact that there are so many activities going on. The dining room looked like a cruise ship and I'm thankful that we have the means to have her in a place like that. I saw the calendar of events, and they go to the casinos, and to concerts. All those things are what my mother needs. I think this will be a really good match for her.

My parents-in-law have moved in. The food and the portion size were good. The room that they are in is beautiful, there are lots of windows and light, and it's a nice-size and has a little kitchenette. It's like moving into a little apartment. The people there have been great and really helpful. I think it's a great community.

I liked it a lot. The only thing that they did not have there was a refrigerator in the room. They had a dining room and activity room.

My mom is staying here. It's not as nice, but the people are very nice. It seems smaller and not well staffed. The food is not great, but it's fine and my mom doesn't have complaints. She likes it there. She said all of the people have been helpful. My mom likes playing dominoes. They have entertainers come in and every night they have trivia. They also have excursions and have community bands come in.

Everything is good about this community. My mother's sister was there, and it was very nice. The apartments were really cute. They have activities like bingo.

The facility itself was quite large. They were very cordial and very informative. They gave me a tour to see the different units. You could get one of your own or share with somebody else. You could have your own kitchen or there was a communal dining room. They were very good. I'd give them a triple A rating as far as the questions answered and the information that I got.

It was a really nice facility. It was, however, a little too far from me and I think it would be too quiet for her. The place is clean; it's beautiful; and everybody is very helpful, but it was way farther than I thought. The place is really for assisted living. They have little apartments that are very clean. The staff was nice and very friendly.

My mother is here. I like the personality of the people there best. They were caring, considerate, and family oriented. They have a nursing service on staff all the time. The facility is clean. It is very nice. There are two sections to this building. One part is assisted living, where my mother has her own apartment. They provide food, and they take care of all her medications. On the other end of the building is the memory care, which is a separate part of this facility. In her apartment, she has a living room, a small kitchen, a bedroom, and a bathroom. It is bright and cheery. She has a huge picture window and she has air conditioning. It is all handicapped accessible. They did the bedroom furniture for us. My mother was not from here, so she was here without anything. Regarding food, to be honest, my mother has gained 10 pounds since she has been there. The dining facility was elegant.

My mother stayed here. The staff were very caring and helpful. She had a room. I have not tried the food but she ate everything. They had all kinds of activities like choral group and day trips. My husband built them a garden where they planted flowers. They were wonderful and I was very satisfied.
