I am/was a resident of this facility

My wife and I have lived at Avila for the past two years. We are enjoying immensely this experience and our choice to join this community. The dining, housekeeping, and maintenance staff are most helpful and supportive. Joining the Avila community has exceeded our expectations, especially with the many programs offered such as physical exercise, social, and educational activities. If you visit Avila, we would be pleased to have you call us for a first-hand account of our experiences here.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Both my parents live at Avila Retirement Community now, and they like it. It's very good for them. It was getting hard for them to be independent in their own home. There was just too much work, so it was easier to stay independent in a place where they had less work, and they were grateful to have a place to go. They visited it years ago, and only when COVID came did they make the decision to move in. The staff is nice and attentive. They like the food, but they also do their own cooking. They're in a very large, very bright apartment with big windows, and it's very sunny. They like their apartment, but they also like their neighbors a lot. One of their neighbors organizes activities and things on their floor, so they have a girls' night at least once a month. My dad goes to jazz night once a month -- it's live jazz concerts -- and he loves it. It's always clean, and when I visit, my mom is always telling me I should pick up tips from their landscaper. I have no complaints with the staff. The social worker they met with when they arrived was excellent. It's a little bit pricy, but I don't think they feel that it's bad.

I visited this facility

My visit to Avila Retirement Community was just wonderful. That is a lovely, wonderful place. I saw a beautiful room; it was absolutely the perfect place to be. I was particularly impressed with the few people I saw while going through the facility. They all looked very happy and very interested. I would like very much to live there. The only reason I turned that down was because it was a very difficult traffic pattern to drive there. That's only independent living there. The facilities are very top. They have a pool, which is a big plus for me.

I visited this facility

I went to Avila and I think the best part about this facility is the chef and the dining room. It's excellent. The staff were very pleasant, but the rooms were small and a little dark and that would have been difficult for a wheelchair.

I visited this facility

Avila was very nice and we were very pleased when we had a full tour there. We saw the cottages and the apartments and they were lovely. They had different activities. We would be happy to live there.

I visited this facility

My mother has been in Avila in New York for 7 years now. She's doing pretty much okay and they treat her very well. Although it's hard for us because she's in Albany and we're here in Florida. We're 1400 miles away. So we are hoping to find a place for her near to us here in Florida. She's been in Avila for quite sometime now and the staff & residents are all friendly and warm. So I'm sure my Mother is well taken care of. A good place to recommend to others.
