My tour at Glen Eddy was good. But since my mother's not ambulatory, I didn't like the layout of the place. The staff who gave the tour was fine. My mother was not ambulatory and she was like focusing on aspects of the place that really wouldn't apply to my mother. Like she would show me the walking path, my mother is never going to go on the walking path I explained that to her, but it didn't seem to register. I saw the dining area, it looked clean but I didn't try their food. I also saw physical therapy, which I thought was good. I saw a pool and an art room, and I saw them cooking there. They have everything and I like the security that they had there. They let you opt out of the food plan if you want to opt out. You don't get a whole lot of money back, it's like $200 a month if you opt out, which isn't a whole lot, but at least they give you the option. The apartments and the facility itself were beautiful.

I toured Glen Eddy. I was able to get in to see some of the living spaces. The room was very basic but very nice. They have one or two bedrooms, a living room, dining space, kitchen, and a possibility of a bonus room. They have the same thing as the other place has, but I don't think they do a happy hour there though. I think they have assisted living, but no nursing home on the campus. The swimming pool is indoors, and there are outdoor places.

I have moved my mom to Marjorie Doyle Rockwell back in December. It's been very good. The staff is the reason I chose it because they have a very caring bunch. They are very concerned with establishing good relations with the residents by being helpful as possible. They have a lot of training for the staff on how to treat the residents, memory care, and how that works. More importantly than my opinion, my mother says they are very kind. She is not that easy to get along with, so I'm sure they are very patient. From the ones that I have seen, it is one of the smaller places for memory care patients. I think that is important because in a very large setting, people might feel lost as they move about in the facility. It is kind of small, intimate, and very expensive. I think the food could use a little improvement, but I know that is difficult. It is close to being the best if not one of the best.

I placed my father at Marjorie Doyle. I did look around some of the other facilities, but I think this facility is the best fit for my father. They have more activities and more things that keep the residents active before they deteriorate, and I think I like that aspect of the Marjorie Doyle. They have professional people. The experience level over at this facility stood out far more than any of the other places that I went to. They attend to my father's needs. I really speak highly about this place. They have a lot of group activities and they go out on trips. They went to a musical and listen to concerts. My dad has been there only for few months, and they have all kinds of different things that they offer. They went to a museum, and I thought that was just really interesting. It is a cheerful place, and a lot of people are getting involved with all of the activities.

The Eddy is very good to my Mom, she gets excellent care, the food is good and the living enviroment is excellent. The residents have daily activities that are interesting and keep the people involved. I have not had one call from the facility since she has been there. This is a good thing.
