We’re very satisfied with everything we’ve had to do with Emeritus at Roswell. We’ve had good cooperation from the management, and we are well settled in right now. It is very nice. The food could be better, but it is good.

You should know that the new owners, Avamere are disorganized. They are displacing the folks in the condo and changing their live styles tremendously. They will be limiting their abilities to have company and family members stay and help out and are offering them smaller units for the same or more rent. Very poor planning folks. Time will tell how they work out. Very angry about this lack of planning.

Brookdale Country Club was fine except they never got back to us and never called us back after we went on a tour. The lady we were supposed to see wasn't there that day. The person who toured us around was friendly, but you could tell touring wasn't what she normally does. The dining area was really nice. They were doing crafts when we were there. They had a library and exercise area. The place was nice.

Basically, I liked the staff, but outside of that, you won't even care for the facility. Brookdale Country Club (formerly Emeritus at Roswell) seemed like a hotel, and I wanted something a little homier for my mom. We looked at different rooms, and they were kind of dated. She was looking for something on a level that her little pet could be outside, and they didn't have anything there. They were working on some rooms, at that time, and it seemed alright. To me, it just seemed like a hotel, and I wouldn’t want my mom spending her time in a hotel.

Emeritus holds about 150 people. They seem to be doing the best they can and the people who worked there seemed to be relaxed and friendly. They have some terrific cookies. They do allow pets there. I was impressed that they have some original artwork hung in their hallways. They also visited me and looked at some of my artwork. Kim was full of enthusiasm because I can start a little class. I got excited as well.

Emeritus at Roswell is very nice. Sanitation is good. They keep up with it. They have a team of housekeepers that works all the time. The rooms are very nice. The food is good. Dining is family style where they serve you. They have bingo. Supposedly they do country rides, where they go in a van. My mom likes that, but it is just not often enough. More recreation would be nice, but it is hard to get some of the people out of their rooms.

My mother has received wonderful care from the employees. We could not be happier. The atmosphere is truly a family atmosphere. It is refreshing to see people smiling while caring for others. We will be saddened when she has to leave due to the facility not being able to take medicare or medicaid.

We were very happy with Emeritus. My mother-in-law is settled in there, and they're very nice. It's comfortable, and she has made friends. She likes it there. It just seemed to have everything that she needed. The apartment was a good size, and everyone was really helpful. She has the alert system thing that she can wear around her neck so that if she falls, she can get a hold of somebody. They had everything that we were looking for, and I guess it's a good deal. They have a bus that takes them wherever they want to go. You just have to schedule it. That's a really good amenity. You can go to for appointments that way, and they go to Wal-Mart once a week. Providing the three meals a day is a great amenity. They have different activities scheduled for people to get involved with.

The staff in La Villa are great and the services that they provide are sure to meet the needs of my friend. She has a one-bedroom apartment. The food is delicious. They serve three balanced meals daily. They have a big meal at noon and then a light supper. They also have daily exercise program and games as well as other activities. They always have something to do.
