Good Samaritan Society - Las Cruces Village didn't offer as much. The restaurant and some of their amenities were in a different building and it would've been too far for my mother to walk between them. They didn't offer all the meals and cleaning was only once a month. They didn't have the services that the other places had. The rooms were OKat the assisted living, but it was all one level and they didn't have activities. It seemed more like a nursing home. It wasn't a good fit at all for her. The facility was clean and neat.

Good Samaritan Society La Cruces Village is mostly independent living. And they have a little nursing home that is a separate place from the independent living. It's near Memorial Hospital. The difference is, the place is nice but to get to the main facility, you'd have to walk outside, and it's a long walk. You get $75 a month for meals and then the rest you pay out-of-pocket. There's housekeeping once a month, while at my mother's community it's once a week. The person who accommodated me during the tour was great. The dining area looked beautiful. They had a large list of activities as well.

I liked Good Samaritan Society - La Cruces Village. They had a nice cafeteria, gift shop, and different activities. The staff who helped me there showed me everything and was very friendly. They have a swimming pool and exercise room. The place was very clean and new.

We visited Good Samaritan Society and thought it was OK and a little pricey. They had a lot of extra charges for things that we felt should have been included in the basic monthly price. They did not have any rooms open.

My family had a great experience with the facility. Staff where personable and seemed to care about the residents and the amenities were very clean and well-maintained. We played bingo with some of the residents as well. Later that afternoon a therapy dog was scheduled to interact with residents. It seemed like a nice place. We were happy that this was a Good Samaritan, faith-based facility. My grandmother was happy that daily chapel and Sunday worship services were available on-site and that there was a full-time chaplain on staff. The facility also provides guest rooms for out-of-town visitors which could be very convenient as hotels sometimes sell out in Las Cruces, depending on the time of year. I asked one of the residents if she was enjoying her time there and she said she enjoyed seeing the spectacular sunsets and views out of the facility's large windows. For someone active like my grandmother, it seemed like a good fit because of the activities available.
