Mom has been there 8 months. She and Dad came together and he has since passed away. Like family, the staff attended to her even during the night. At times, someone would just sit with her and comfort her. We visited other facilities before choosing Woodmark @ Uptown. It was not the most expensive, yet their provisions were great. Their food menu has many choices, changing daily, yet they are still attentive to individual needs. Including desserts! They offer outings as groups, bring in both Catholic and Protestant services weekly, provide transportation for doctor visits, and good weekly entertainment. Of special note was their most recent Great Gatsby Gala! Literally, everyone was involved. The kitchen staff went all out to prepare crabcakes, shrimp cocktail and specialty dessert. Residents created Roaring 20's headbands with feathers. Health staff decorated every lobby, hallway, meeting room and dining room. Professioal entertainment was brought in. There was even a photo booth for the residents and staff and their families. Nearly everyone was was dressed in Great Gatsby flair. Some of the staff went as far as bringing their personal attire from home to make sure residents could fully participate. It would be well worth your time to visit and consider Woodmark @ Uptown . P.S. Beware of the free cookies, muffins and popcorn in the lobby. Just sayin'.

The Woodmark at Uptown is a great facility. It was the primary facility I wanted to take Mom to, but it's a bit too expensive. It's kind of like a hotel in a resort city. The staff was great and very attentive, and the spaces were nice. Even the memory care was more like assisted living. It would be hard pressed to tell the difference except for the locked doors. For amenities and activities, they have a happy hour on Friday where they'll bring in a guy who sings and plays an instrument, and there are lots of people that will show up. I was there one time in the memory care where they had a birthday party for somebody, and everybody was engaged. They have a nice area in the memory care portion where they have a big TV set with lots of places to sit, and they have an extensive library of DVDs so that people can watch them. They also have a van where they can take residents on trips to do things, so that's very important. One thing that Mom likes about it is that she has an option for getting a cheeseburger there any time she wants it. Still, it's too expensive, so we had to cross it.

I toured The Woodmark at Uptown for my aunt. There wasn't anything that I didn't like. I liked it. I was greeted by a person at the front desk. She immediately alerted the woman who I was meeting with about my tour. She offered me a bottle of water. I barely got to sit down, and the lady was there. We went back into a private area, had a little talk about the needs of my aunt, and then we took a tour, and I thought it worked out very well. I was shown a dining area and I reviewed the menus. I thought that they were very nice. I thought it was one of the better ones that I've seen. The staff walked me by what I would consider the beauty parlor to get their nails done, get their hair done, etc. Upstairs, she showed me a couple of private dining areas so that if the family wanted to come in and have a private dinner, either bring food in or have it made by The Woodmark, we could do that. And then there was an area upstairs that had an outdoor garden, patios, and a sunroom, which I thought was also very nice.

The Woodmark at Uptown seemed like a nice place. It had a lot of the features that I was looking for. They have lots of activities. It is close to where I live, and that's important. The facility was very nice. They were very proud of the fact that many of the staff have worked there for years, so that says that they're doing something right, at least for the staff. The staff members were quite good and knowledgeable.

We went to see The Woodmark at Uptown and I thought it was nice. My dad was just a little bit overwhelmed with the many different hallways and got a little lost, so he wasn't comfortable with the place. I would recommend them though because that individual who assisted us was very courteous. She was wonderful, took us around, and showed us everything. I was pleased with it. We were shown the assisted living and she also told us about their memory care. We saw a studio and a 1-bedroom apartment. The atmosphere there was very good. They had a lot of different activities too, so there were plenty of options for anybody.

This review is concerned with Woodmark billing and prices. In December I was at Woodmark for about 3 week recovering from heart surgery. I did leave earlier than planned because I wanted to go home. I did not use any services such as transportation. I ended up paying close to $10,000 for the 3 weeks which I consider excessive. I tried multiple times to contact the business manager who did not call me back.

My husband has moved into The Woodmark at Uptown memory care. I was impressed with it. I was impressed with the location, the care that they have, the percentage they have per patient, and the people that I talked to. I like the facilities and the services they have for the residents. I just saw one incident that I certainly didn't appreciate how they were treating the patients. I'm satisfied with the activities. He's not participating a whole lot, but he's in there. He's watching, so I believe that it's going to be good for him.

Based on my visit, I think The Woodmark at Uptown is a fantastic place for people going to assisted living. They also have memory care one and two. Most places only have memory care one. They're a unique place all on their own. They stand alone from about 98 percent of the rest of the places in Albuquerque. It's a wonderful place. The staff is friendly and is caring. The residents look happy, they don't look like they're in a nursing home situation. They are happy and living their lives to the best of their abilities. The tour was very well done. They had no problems answering questions, they didn't stutter, and they answered the hard questions. They were very knowledgeable. They've been running the business like that for 30 years and it's a family-owned business, so you have a family atmosphere about the place. I haven't tried the food there, but I did see the menu, and I'm very impressed with the fact that it's a restaurant-style menu in their main dining area. You get three choices per meal, and if you have any ideas that are not on the list, they can recommend stuff to the chef, and the chef will try to accommodate it as best as possible.

We chose The Woodmark at Uptown because my mother could have at least one dog there. We also liked that it had assisted living and memory care unit when she needs it. The staff was very friendly. The dining area was nice. I was not that impressed with the food, but my mother was. They had a full list of activities for every day of the week including watercolor painting, exercise classes, Bingo, Uno, and bible study. They do their laundry and they clean up every week, they provide transportation, they have doctors that will come to her and 24/7 nursing, and they get an emergency pull cord in their rooms and a pendant to wear where they can push the button for an emergency. Everybody was really friendly.

The Woodmark at Uptown was very nice, clean, almost elegant, and very well laid out. It was almost like being in a five-star hotel. I talked to the lady that gave us the tour, and she was knowledgeable, very friendly, and really seemed to know the business. If we could have afforded that place, we would have gone there. It was about $300 more than the other places.

Management is cheap and won't do the repairs that are needed to keep the place up to par consistently ignore the complaints of the residents.repairs will often go on for months without anything happening because they're unwilling to actual large repair the specific thing and Just keep on throwing a little repairs at it. 4 months and still not fixed.

We toured The Woodmark at Uptown, but it wasn't what we were looking for for my aunt. But if there is somebody that's a little more independent, I think it's a really good place. The staff was great, and the people that we did meet were very friendly. We didn't have anybody give us a tour because they weren't available on the weekends. So the maintenance guy gave us the tour, and he did a great job. I did receive a call from management after the fact, but I still think somebody from management should still have been there to give us a tour. But it's a great facility. The rooms are like little apartments, and the people either live privately or they have a roommate. Its assisted living, but they have more independent living, moderate care, and Alzheimer's care, which provides more round-the-clock care for the residents.

My parents have lived at The Woodmark for 2 years and they have LOVED it! The staff is very caring and always helpful, they are like family. Anytime my parents need something they take care of it right away. My parents haven't had any complaints. Moving was a hard thing for my parents and the family. We never thought it would be this good! We visited many other communities in Albuquerque where my parents have friends living. Based on our visits with them and recommendations from local healthcare professionals we chose The Woodmark. I highly recommed this community!

A friend of mine moved in here and within a few weeks had her jewelry stolen. The senior staff was very unsupportive, saying things like: "well they are old and forget where they put things". Yet neither my friend nor her children were warned not to take anything of value there. My friend no longer feels safe there, Especially after hearing from the other residents that they have been robbed as well. The executive director refused to install cameras in the hallways or any sort of system that would allow them to track who was in the room and at what time. The person that sold them the place curtly replied that they were not responsible for valuables "it was in the contract they signed," yet if someone is feeble enough to need this facility, what are the odds that they can read a contract? If you choose this high-priced facility, please know that your loved ones must live as paupers without anything of value or risk being ripped off. The management has known about this for some time and does nothing about it.

The Woodmark at Uptown was very nice and clean. The staff members were very helpful. The only problem we had was that my grandmother didn't qualify through her insurance. Otherwise, we would have placed her there. They had very nice rooms. The staff was very helpful, informative, and answered all our questions.

The Woodmark at Uptown was very nice, but it was just too big. Their rooms were nice. They had a small kitchen, but for my dad who is in a wheelchair, he didn't need a kitchen. They were very thorough in the visit and very patient. Their dining area was very nice, and the chef came to visit with us. He was very enthusiastic about working there and made accommodations for the residents. I thought The Woodmark was very accommodating, but I didn't like the fact that every single thing that they did was a separate charge, so you never knew what your bill was going to be from month to month. There wasn't a set fee, and I didn't like that.

We liked the apartment at The Woodmark at Uptown, and we just thought that it would fit my mom and dad's needs. It was the largest one we looked at, and the people there are very friendly. It's not a brand-new facility, but the care they give makes up for it. We're very happy with the staff so far, and the caretakers are very good at helping and making my parents feel comfortable there. They have Bingo, music, artists come in and play piano, worship, and Bible study. They have a good menu, and they have a standard menu which you could order off the specials. If you don't care for them, they have another menu.

The Woodmark at Uptown had nice facilities. The hallways felt narrow to me, and they weren’t sure about mom being able to use her motorized wheelchair. The person who assisted me was very nice and very knowledgeable. Nothing was going on when I was there, but they did offer a wide variety of activities. They have an arts and crafts room and a small gym where they teach chair yoga.

The Woodmark was very good if you are doing the independent living side of things. I am sure that the assisted living for the dementia care is good too, but the facility is very small, and to me that was the big issue -- that the entire building is locked down. They were playing some games, and the rooms were clean and adequate. If a couple can afford it -- because it’s expensive -- one of them can live in the independent wing, and the other can live in the memory care; that works for some couples. The staff seems great too.

My mother was at The Woodmark at Uptown. She was in the memory care portion of it. The facility also had an assisted living section. The place was very nice. The staff members were very good. One of the nurses who went to evaluate my mom at the hospital was excellent. My mom shared a room with another lady. It was big, comfortable, and had enough space. It didn't feel crowded. Some families said the food was good. The location was very good, and the grounds were nice. There was a little patio in the back where the residents would sometimes have get-togethers. It was a nice place.

My mother is at The Woodmark at Uptown. The place is clean. They are very personable, and the location is absolutely excellent. It's near all commerce, shopping, and doctor's offices, so the nurses can walk the residents over. Inside the facility, the activities don't seem to be extensive.

The Woodmark at Uptown was a reasonably nice facility. The room seemed to be a little small to me, but it was nice and in a good location. One problem I had was that my mother had a catheter that she could not necessary take care of herself, so we could not go there because they really do not like people with catheters. The staff was nice. I talked with a nurse who seemed knowledgeable. The facilities were clean. The residents were playing some music downstairs. It seemed like a nice facility.

My 96-year-old mother moved to the Woodmark in February. She was able to take care of herself at that time, but had some issues with falling (she was using a walker). She very quickly came to love it at The Woodmark. She had a nice one bedroom apartment on the second floor. Her apartment is thoroughly cleaned once a week and they also do her laundry at that time. They had trips to the mall, and other shopping events, as well as trips to entertainment facilities. Recently, her health has deteriorated drastically and she is now bed-ridden. It is not easy to take care of her and we have hired additional help during the day hours. However, the staff still helps continually and truly go above and beyond. We are there every other day and have always found her care to be the best. She is kept clean. The staff is making her last days as pleasant as possible. If you are looking for a place for a relative, you can do no better than The Woodmark. I am so grateful that we found this place for my Mom.

We were very impressed with everything at The Woodmark at Uptown. It was a lovely place, and it seemed very well managed. The rooms were double rooms and sharing a bath. There were pony walls in the room to separate the residents. I saw their dining room, and it’s lovely. They did have hydration stations, which we were certainly impressed with.

We visited several places and found this was the place that would best suit my mother. She has a one bedroom apartment that is really very nice and the people that work there, and run the place, are all really good at what they do. Her only compaint is that the food is not "always" good.....but, even that is only seldom and not a big deal. She is 94 and can live there through every stage of the last part of her life including hospise when she needs it. We visit two and three times a week at different times and have never seen anything but excellent care.

I went over and looked at the Woodmark because that is close to our house, and I have a neighbor that moved over in there. From our visit a few weeks ago, it was a very nice facility. It was very clean, and the facilities were very nice. I visited a room of our ex-neighbor who moved in there with her husband, and it was nicely situated. I like the place. It has nice views, it is centrally located, and it has lots of activities, so I thought it was a very nice facility. Julie took us around -- and I have talked with her before -- and she gave me all the information I needed on cost and move-in type of things -- what you needed to do and what to put down to hold a spot. She gave us a good tour and showed us where all the facilities were -- the wander rooms, the beauty salon, the upstairs, sun areas, and different things like that. She was very helpful and very nice. They have some different activity rooms. I think one where you can go in and watch movies, and a different one where you could go in and do some workouts with different bicycles and machines like that. My neighbor who's there really likes the food, and she says, 'If you don't want to eat, you don't have to go down. If you want to eat, you go down, and if you miss a meal, they always have a snack area where you can get something like coffee or something to nibble on. And you have your own kitchen upstairs in your room, and you could bring in your own stuff." It seemed like a very nice place. My mom is just always worried about moving out, the cost, and different things like that.

I had a horrible experience with the management of the Woodmark and had to move my two family members out. The aides are wonderful and caring but I would never recommend this group because of their management policies and ethical challenges.

We are very sorry to hear that you did not have a better experience with The Woodmark at Uptown. The Woodmark is managed by Senior Lifestyle, an family-owned organization with close to 30 years of experience dedicated exclusively to senior care. It is our highest priority at the Woodmark to deliver the highest quality of services and care to our residents! While we agree that our aides are wonderful and caring we are disappointed that overall your experience was less than satisfactory. I would be happy to talk more with you in more detail about these concerns. We welcome any additional insight into how the management team can better serve the residents and their families. I can be reached at 505-881-0120. Lastly, on a personal note, we do hope that your loved ones have had a safe transition to their new location. Although the Woodmark at Uptown was a large facility, it did not have that humongous cold and impersonal feeling to it. It had a good Alzheimer's/dementia program. The staff was very friendly and everybody was very nice. They were interacting very well with the client and with the patients. I did not see anything there that was a problem.

The people and doctors that work here are ALWAYS compassionate, caring, giving and concerned for the welfare of the residents there. My Aunt has been living there for a few years now and she loves it! We dont have to worry about her well-being or if she is getting the proper care because we know she is. Even the staff in the cafeteria are polite and respectful to the residents. Its a very clean and well kept facility. I would highly recommend this facility and if and when the time came, I wouldnt mind living there myself.
