My mother-in-law moved into Sandia View Assisted Living-Cottonwood. We're pleased with it. They're clean and they seem to be taking good care of her. They're very clean, very caring with the residents there. They feed them well. I don't really have any complaints. The staff seems to be very nice, very knowledgeable, very caring, and very considerate. I've been there when they've been eating, and it looks like it's good food. They have games and things like that, they haven't gone into too much detail. It's a good-sized room, as she has a shared room, but it's still enough room to get around, and they're comfortable.

Sandia View Assisted Living Cotton has different homes, and it's typically eight to ten residents per home. The only reason I selected that place for my husband was because, first, they have more relaxed restrictions as far as COVID. I could actually go in and tour the whole home; the living room, the dining room, a couple of different bedrooms, and meet the staff. But another selling point for me was that a friend of mine has her mom in one of their other homes, and she spoke very highly of that home, and the care that her mom was receiving in that particular home. He seems to be doing well and is well-attended to. They have a 1:7 ratio for their staff. I happened to be there for lunch, and it was a hot meal with big chicken, fries, and some sautéed carrots for lunch, and he ate the whole thing with no problem. They have snacks for the residents. I've only been there for a couple of meals, but the couple of meals I've seen look good. It's very nicely laid out; it's a home they purchased, and then they retrofitted it with handicap parking and handicap rails when you go inside the house. There's a nice back patio, there's not a lot of road noise, and they can only take up to ten residents. They don't have activities, however, my dad is not interested in activities, because he's very solitary, so that wasn't a big concern for me. If it's a nice day they can take him out to the backyard and walk him around with his walker, and then sit out on the back patio for a while. They were very comparable to the other place I saw in terms of the price.
