My mother-in-law is in a short-term nursing home at Cedar Grove. Because of COVID, we can't go in, and we don't have a face-to-face with the staff, let alone with my mother-in-law. The social worker and the PT reach out to me once a week with a call, and I appreciate that. I'm happy with it, but it's not the same thing as going in and having face-to-face. You can't get past the lobby, but I was grateful we had it so close to us. Between her siblings, and where my husband and I live, we're basically all around corners, so I'm happy with the location.

my father is a current resident at the facility. in the beginning things were rough for him and our family. this is a new experience for us. I will say that since the location is under an extensive remodeling, not everything goes as planned, but the staff and administration are there to listen and help. As the time dad has been there, things are getting better and he is getting more comfortable with his care givers and conditions. His physical therapy team and nurses do care and try as hard as they can in this crazy time of Covid19. to anyone who has to deal with a loved one going into a long time care facility, remember this, the staff at these facilities have to live and work with situations that the average person could not do on a daily basis, i know i could not. can things be better, yes, and they will be, as the facility is trying as hard as they can, and we have to give them the benefit of time to get it that way. all in all dad is good and getting better, that is the truth of the matter.

Please do not send your loved one to Cedar Grove Respiratory & Nursing Care Center in Williamstown, NJ. The admission office will answer all your initial questions perfectly, but once the patient is admitted it's a different story. There is a disgraceful lack of professionalism among all disciplines and staff. There is a serious lack of communication with families and inconsistent answers to any concerns. The ventilator unit was a disaster. They do not reposition the patients or get them out of bed unless you beg for it. The vent unit manager met me with her mask under her nose and was absolutely hostile towards me. She seemed to resent any questions I posed. My simple repeated requests for a meds list was continuously ignored. My husband suffered swollen limbs and aspiration pneumonia under their care (or lack of care I should say). The physical therapist and a nurse banged my husbands head against the headboard (twice!) when I was there. I shudder to think of what occurred when I wasn't there. They will promise daily updates then never deliver. They will confirm scheduled facetime sessions and then not call. I even went to the administrator and spoke at length about my concerns. Nothing changed. Our experience was despicable and tragic.

I was a patient at this facility and would advise my relatives and/or friends to select another facility as this one did not meet my standards or did it provide what I would consider adequate care as a patient! They first of all do not have adequate help with health providers and there were times I could not get help when I rang the help button! All my breakfast meals were usually cold and several times did not have the necessary essentials to eat such as no milk for cereals, or juice I requested! I will not elaborate further as I initially mentioned above as starting this paragraph! The facility leaves a lot to be desired from my point of view! The staff sometimes listened to my complaints and at other times said wait till morning when I was in severe distress with pain from GI issues! I will not go any further! I am explaining my point of view from my perspective of this facility! I am sure other patients or next of kin have their own experiences good or bad! I just needed to give my own experience! Mr. CC

It is a fairly good environment. They have therapy for memory loss. They're a caring group. The staff is pretty good. The rooms are dated but they're comfortable enough. The location is good and very accessible.

This facility is a joke. My grandmother was brought there after a stroke, when she arrived she was able to sit up and eat solid food. After one week, she was dehydrated, had bed sores that morphed into wounds, could no longer move her right side and was unable to sit up. She had to be relocated to another hospital but has been irreversibly damaged by the incompetence at this facility. Staff have no idea how to care for patients, if you love your family member, do NOT bring them here

My dad was here for a few short weeks. The staff is helpful, and the rooms and apartment are very nice. It is spacious and clean. The food is good, and my dad is satisfied with it. As for activities, they have everything. They have poker, ministries services, and puzzles. They have a big library too. The security is fine. They just need more help. The staffing could be better.

I visited this facility once a week to go see one of my grandmother's friends with her. The employees at the facility seemed extremely nice and friendly. They always were polite to us. My grandmother's friend said that she enjoyed staying at the facility. She said that they had really good food, lots of different activities and tons of free time. She said it was a wonderful place to live and she really liked it. The other patients seemed to like it there too because they were always in the hall ways or in the other common rooms laughing and having a good time. Over all I would rate the place a n A.
