My friend will be moving into Complete Care at Voorhees. I visited several, and they just looked very friendly and clean. They have activities to keep her occupied. The other ones were nicer, but that one just sort of stuck in my mind. It's very nice, the upkeep was nice, and the people seemed happy. They have a social director that does activities for them. They had several rooms that had big TVs in them. There were two to a room and the rooms were a little more spacious than some I saw. They give you two dressers and half a closet to put your things in and you could bring some personal stuff, which was nice. They have a salon. They have the doctors there for everything she needs. They have physical therapy. I saw a lot of staff around, and I saw staff interacting with the residents. I saw a lot nicer ones, but a lot of them don't take Medicaid, and that's what she needed.

Quite frankly...I found this facility a disgrace....it smells of urine....plants are dead...Windows leak....food in the hallways..stains on the carpet...dirty outside seating areas....paint peeling from walls.. Patients wandering aimlessly about...my father in law is there....and I find it most depressing...I would never put a loved one there...not EVER.

Seems to me that some of the nursing staff is only there for the paycheck. My Mother has bruises on her face that look like they were made by someone grabbing her. She does not have the strength in her hands to do this to herself. The people who work there seem to be sweeping incidents like this under the rug instead of working to find out what is happening to my Mother. She is still there and the POA will not move her. She has never had this happen at other nursing homes or long term care facilities. This should NOT happen to anyone. Some of the facility staff have mentioned that they would not have a family member placed here. I would also like to mention they have a bad reputation among the professionals in this field also. The supervision of the patients in common areas is also severely lacking.

Voorhees Center was very good. The rehab specialists were excellent. The room was nice and clean, and it served the purpose. My cousin enjoyed the buffets in particular. They had bingo and different activities every day. He was happy with it.

The VA chose The Voorhees Care and Rehab for my brother. He is in a shared room and it is just like your typical hospital room. What I especially like about this nursing home is their staff. They seem very friendly, nice and caring. I would recommend this nursing home to others.

My friend was at Voorhees Center and it was terrible. I would not recommend this place to anybody. She was in a shared room with another resident who was in worse shape than she was. They had a room where they put all the residents and nobody supervised them.

I liked the dementia unit in Voorhees Center. It has small section where they can do a lot of activities. She can do a lot of walking, they do cooking, they do folding of towels and they have little parties. They do a lot of things with them and they're always busy with them all day long. When I stop in, she's always happy. I like it there a lot for her. The people working there are very nice. Their food is okay, they eat back in the lock down dementia unit which is very clean. She shares a room with someone else but they're never in their room and she doesn't even know where her room is. She's always having activities, having meals and walking. I think this is the best place for her.

The facility is understaffed and the staff that they have, aside from two particular nurses, seem poorly qualified to attend to the needs of the elderly. It was a sad place for me to visit. I estimate that they had close to 100 beds per floor with just a few nurses or aides floating about. For the residents that could get around, I suppose the place was what they made of it. But in the case of my mother, if she wasn't pressing her call button, then there was little or no attention being shown her. Many times when I would visit, I would see that she hadn't been looked after that day (or more). We found her sick and lethargic more than a few times and had to ask why this wasn't being addressed. Also, I think the outside medical / doctor's office in charge of seeing her on a regular basis was poor. The food was awful. It certainly wasn't anything I would have ate. However, the facility was overall fairly clean, and I suppose they kept my mother and her clothes fairly clean. The facility recently changed hands, and they did spruce it up with new paint and flooring. However, it's the care that matters, and there just aren't enough employees on the floor to take care of the residents' needs. To their credit, they have a couple of nurses on my mom's floor that are very nice and remained employed there for at least the past two years. But when they weren't working (i.e, weekends, nights, or holidays) or assigned to her floor, I don't think she was looked after at a reasonable level. It certainly is not a place I would recommend.
