I have been in the subacute (rehab) unit at Holiday City three times, while no facility is perfect, I must disagree with some other reviews. I was there for spinal fractures and was unable to bear any weight all three times and found the caregivers very compassionate, I was never left in soiled diapers, nor were my calls ignored although sometime I waited longer than usual if the were short staffed. The difference between my first two stays and this last stay, I noticed a great many changes in staff all for the better. I also noticed an improvement in the food, but the main reason I’ve chosen this facility so often is the Rehab Dept. and in my opinion they are excellent and show true compassion for their patients.

Should be less than 1 star. They are always short handed, especially on the weekends.my mother has repeatedly been left lying in bed all day because they don't have the staff. Each group of patients is assigned an aide, so if one group is short staffed that group is virtually ignored while other groups attended too. ,minimally,. I have many more concerns and have witnessed major issues but it would take several pages to list. This place should be closed down . Many rude and u nattentive staff with a poor attitude and work ethic.

Do not bring your loved ones here. The nursing staff is neglectful, cruel and lack empathy. I cannot believe that they are still in business. We are having such a horrific experience and working to get our father out of there asap. It's been three days and so far he fell, has been passively cursed at and ignored. My sister is staying there to help him to the bathroom just so he can be treated with dignity.

My brother is there A US ARMY VETERAN ,being immorally treated by leaving him sit in his diaper because he has had a stroke paralyzed his left side they let him sit in his excrement fof 8-10 hours , ever answering his call button, begging for water, I’m paying for his care and this is the care he receives! ! Sadly he can’t get showered on a normal schedule some weeks they don’t have the help so he is skipped ! Not fair and being a Veteran doesn’t mean thank you for your service here at all ! Please look deeply when deciding where your loved will go to basically spend the rest of their lives slowly praying to die !

This place is Horrific! I went based on there ratings of 5 stars ! Boy was I wrong, this place is beyond horrible, the Memory Care residents are not cared for at all. My loved one developed Edema from just left sitting in a Rollator most of the day. She was left unattended which resulted in several falls and major bruising on her legs, her clothes were taken by who know who. Please just don't place anyone you love in this place PLEASE

RE AND THERAPY AFTER A STAY AT THE MAIN HOSPITAL..AND WAS DROPPED OFF AFTER HIS TIME WAS UP ALL CRIPPLED UP AND UNABLE TO WALK OR USE BATHROOM ALONE. I FELL THAY COULD HAVE GIVEN HIM MORE TIME SOMEHOW AND MORE CARE THEN THEY DID, COMPLAINTS WERE MEDS WERE NOT GIVEN ON TIME, BATHING AND PERSONAL CARE NOT GIVEN PROPERLY,AND MEALS WERE NOT TIMELY OR WARM. WE CALLED THE MAIN STATION MANY TIMES TO REQUEST THESE BE ADDRESSED AND DID NOT SEEM TO BE. HIS CLOTHES WERE LOST A FEW TIMES AND HE CAME HOME WITH MANY ITEMS THAT WERE BROUGHT THERE ABSENT FROM HIS BELONGINGS,AND ITEMS THAT BELONGED TO SOMEONE ELSE, MEDS SEEMED LATE OR NOT THERE WHEN HE NEEDED THEM? THERAPY WAS NOT STEADY OR VALUABLE TO HIM AT ALL, THE ROOMS WERE PRETTY CKEAN AND WHEN HE WAS ALONE.OTHER TIMES HE WAS MOVED IN WITH OTHERS AND WE HAD TO GO THERE TO LOCATE HIM,, WE FELT AS A FAMILY AND FRIEND THE CARE WAS NOT EVEN ADEQUATE TO MEET HIS EMOTIONAL OR PYS NEEDS,AND POOR UNDERSTAFFING, WE DID NOT RECIEVE GOOD REFERRALS WHEN HE WAS DROPPED OFF OR CARE HE NEEDED,NEVER WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY TO ANYONE WHO NEEDED CARE AND CARING STAFF,

This facility rightly deserves zero stars. They are egregiously understaffed to the point of negligence. My family members visited on-site 5-6 days per week and I still found my parent soiled, in beds that had no linens, without water, and with inaccessible food. I have reported them to the state DOH twice for these conditions. There was no COVID protocol during an outbreak, and no management accountability for this facility in general. During the time I engaged with them there was only one social worker for the facility (the second social worker on staff had just quit). This lone social worker was the most responsive person I encountered, but even she was hampered by a lack of resources and support. Please do not send anyone you care about to this facility.

The nurses are uncaring when it comes to family members. They take their time getting back to you and then have attitude when they do. My mom was there and she was complaining about even some abusiveness.

My Mother passed away on her 90th Birthday. She was in rehab section after an operation and could not walk. The Nurses, especially Jonas, was very kind and caring when I called. With the COVID, 9/2020 to 11/2020 ( her stay)I could not visit her but every time I spoke to her she said the people were kind. Thank you to everyone who helped her.

Had a family member die there after only being a resident for a month. We never got to see him. Only 22% of the staff was vaccinated and last year of the 180 patients they had 119 died.

The care at this facility was horrible. .The food was unidentifiable and they had one nurse for 25 patients! After, learning how they treat their patients and asking other outside physicians about their thoughts on this facility I wouldn't recommend sending your loved one here at all. All for money clearly not a good place.

We chose Complete Care at Holiday City for my mother. She lives in the community that it's located in. I would have nothing negative to say about the staff, it seems that everybody is doing their job, and doing a good job at it. They're trying to do the best that they can for her dietary needs. The outside seems very fine, seems very well taken care of. It's been there a long time. I've known people that have loved ones there, it has a good reputation, and I like that it's close to where my mom lived.

My husband is now in Holiday Care Center and it's alright. The people who work there are very nice. The rooms are alright, like in a nursing home. The food's not great, but it's alright.

Unfortunately my mother was admitted to this facility after a hospital stay. She shared a room with another alzheimers patient who apparently was a wanderer and had an alarmed bed. During a visit to my mother, I witnessed this poor woman ringing and ringing for assistance to no avail. I could see that see was in distress and wanted to get up from her bed but was afraid of setting off the alarm. After a long time she finally managed the courage to get up and go into the bathroom but it was too late. She had soiled herself badly. The attendant who finally came into the room seemed agitated that the poor woman had soiled herself and the bathroom and went about cleaning the bathroom rather than assisting the woman. I met with the "team" to tell them that my mother's food trays were not being eaten. The only thing that she was eating was the ice cream which was making her sugar levels spiral out of control. She was taking insulin shots for the first time in her life at 92. The dietician seemed totally disinterested in my mother's health and defensive about her "balanced menu". I was totally frustrated with the "team" and went to the director to voice my concerns but she too seemed uninterested. This occurred 14 years ago and I am still appalled at the lack of care, dignity and respect for the patients there. Please consider using another facility.

My mom has been there since May. She has Dementia and not an easy resident to deal with, but they seem to care for her physical needs and know how to deal with her mental and emotional issues. So far, so good, she is fairly happy there.

This place is horrible. My parent was always dirty and in the same clothes for a week at a time. They don’t shower the residents and they get sandwiches for lunch and dinner. Wouldn’t leave my dog at this place. Thank god my parent is out of there.

Holiday Care was very clean, they were very accommodating, and the service was very good. They keep the people active. The food for the patients was excellent, they had servers, and they were nice.

Unfortunately, my father's two-week-plus stay at the Holiday Care Center nursing home in Toms River, New Jersey, in 2010, was not a good experience. My mother, a former RN, and I were with my father during visiting hours every day of his short stay, but that did not prevent needless complications, such as a urinary tract infection from unhygienic Foley catheter care and frustrating breakfasts due to the staff's inability to give my father his dentures, which my mother cleaned the evening before and left in his nightstand. In addition, due to inadequate staffing during the busy afternoon hours, meal distribution was slow and inefficient and assistance for the inevitable bathroom visits that followed sometimes took up to 30 minutes to arrive. I also found it disturbing that patients did not have access to water in their rooms. Because it was easier for my mother and I to care for my father at home, we pulled him out of Holiday Care and arranged for a visiting physician, nurse, and therapist to attend to him. Holiday Care Center may be better than some nursing homes, but it was not good enough for my father. My mother and I were fortunate that we could take better care of him at home before he passed away.
