I became a resident of Brandywine approximately one year ago. I had suffered COVID twice before coming and came in very disoriented and physically weak (I was in a wheelchair). Through a combination of rest, physical therapy, and the comradarie of other residents a year later I am no longer in a wheelchair, I think clearly (most of the time), and I have had a wonderful experience here getting back to a normal lifestyle.

I've meant to write this review for a few months, but glad I waited because I know now after a few months of experience that without any doubt the Brandywine at the Sycamore was the absolute best choice for my aunt who is like a second mother to me and several family members. Aunt Rose at 98 years old was living independently until late last year when she took a spill and broke a bone in her neck. After weeks in hospital and rehab we knew she could no longer live alone and researched all the local assisted living communities. I knew the minute I walked into Brandywine and had the great pleasure of meeting with Rebecca and Phylicia that I hit the jackpot. These are the most lovely, caring and sincere women, who helped me and my two cousins along the journey of securing a residence and care for Aunt Rose. Along the way there was assistance from other members of the Brandywine family both inside Sycamore and outside the immediate community, and everyone bent over backwards to ensure they could meet my aunt's needs. Once she moved in they made every last effort to be sure she was happy and secure, including monitoring and addressing her specific health needs. It took a little less than a month for Aunt Rose to settle in and now she absolutely loves her new home! She has made friends, participates in activities, loves the food, and thinks everyone is just so nice and friendly and caring. We cannot say enough about how beautiful the Sycamore is, how clean and well kept, how lovely the grounds are, how wonderful the staff is (including admins, dr, nurses, aids, etc.) and how much we appreciate that we were able to move Aunt Rose into this wonderful community. Don't hesitate for a second to check it out for yourself or your loved one!

I considered Brandywine Living at The Sycamore because they had a lovely room, like a studio apartment, and it was a nice building. They had lovely sitting rooms and couches, a special area where people could walk outside, and the dining was open all day if anyone wanted to eat. It was secure, nobody could go in unless you made an appointment and they wouldn't just let anybody in because there was always somebody right there sitting in the main room when you came in. And the person there who interviewed me, her name was Felicia, she was very knowledgeable and very helpful. At the last minute, I decided not to go, but it was because of me, not because of them. I was very interested in Brandywine Living at The Sycamore. I decided not to go there because I felt it was for people who were in a worse physical condition than I was, and so that depressed me. It's a lovely drive to go in and it's very private too. It was very attractive, it didn't look like an institution, it was like a nice, big, old home. It was comfortable. They would take people out in the shuttle to wherever they wanted to go, or they would call a driver if the people had to go to a doctor.

Rebecca, Linda and the rest of the staff at Brandywine at The Sycamore made getting my parents settled in a new state after some medical trauma (and during a pandemic!) a smooth and much less stressful experience than it could have been. They have taken such wonderful care of both my parents during a very difficult time. My mom passed away from Parkinson’s and they handled her decline with compassion and care and have done wonders to help my dad work through the grieving process. I can relax knowing the staff is supporting his mental and physical needs. They provide excellent meals (my dad loves hanging out in the dining room after breakfast talking with his neighbors) and great activities, make sure he gets to medical appointments when I can’t take him and generally make me feel so welcome and comfortable when I come to visit. I highly recommend taking a look at the Brandywine and talking to Rebecca and the staff if you are considering a move for you or your parents.

I was welcomed with open arms from a lengthy stint in a rehab center. I was made to feel at home. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The dining room open and inviting, the food is excellent. I just had a beef brisket sandwich! The apartments are clean, large, private. The amenities are. I love the pub and the entire community. Highly recommend. Look me up when you move in!

My siblings and I needed to move our 88-year-old mother from Georgia to New Jersey at the end of August this past year. Owing to her physical and medical care needs at the time, an Assisted Living facility seemed like the best option. Unfortunately, actual site visits were out of the question due to the pandemic, so with the help of a friend in the business, we narrowed the list of candidates down to a select few favorites and viewed virtual site tours with my mother. Out of all the interviews and virtual tours conducted, Brandywine at the Sycamore was the one that gave us the best first impression. Brandywine was the most welcoming, the most helpful and informative, the most personable, and the most engaging of the lot of them. During the virtual tour they made her feel wanted. Not once did we feel like she was just a number or another prospect for the corporation's bottom line. During the video tour they actually stopped and introduced our mother to random residents that passed by in the hallways. Our mother could visually see herself living there at the facility. This was an important factor in our ultimate decision to choose Brandywine as we had heard it had a good reputation but subsequently discovered that it was the staff that were the true gems. Thanks to the staff's continued interaction and devotion, our mother easily made the transition to the new facility and felt comfortable as part of the Brandywine family in no time. She remarked that it was her new home pretty much from the very beginning of her stay there. She adored all of the staff that she interacted with and they always were kind enough to remark to us siblings how sweet our mother was to them. She especially loved Rebecca, Phylicia, Nicole, and Linda, each of whom made it a point to look after her and to pay particular attention to her needs. She enjoyed her beauty treatments and visiting the firepit on the back patio. It was her favorite spot to meet and she loved looking at the fall leaves. Although her time there at Brandywine was cut short due an unfortunate early passing, it is reassuring and a great comfort for us siblings to know that she spent the remaining time here on earth at a place she considered to be her home and among people that cared for her and that she cherished.

Brandywine Living at Sycamore was a nice facility, and the common areas were laid out more like the lobby of a hotel. The person who gave us the tour was very nice and very informative about activities and things they do to get the residents involved. The grounds were nice, and we saw several nice rooms. They look like they have enough choices at each meal.

My mom is going to respite care in Brandywine. The people there are absolutely fabulous; I could not have asked for nicer people. It is absolutely a wonderful experience. I met with them to go through the paperwork. It has absolutely worked out perfectly for us. My mother is going to get a one-bedroom suite with a recliner there ready for her. They have a living room with a piano and a slot machine in one of the rooms. They have a firepit with beautiful furniture around it. The dining room was lovely. There was a nice mix of people.

My mom has been living at Brandywine for the past two years and I can't say enough about the wonderful care and support she has received. The staff is wonderful always going above and beyond. They have activities for everyone and many musical programs. Last week they had a luau which was a big hit. The facility is immaculate and the grounds are beautiful with benches all over for nice outside walks. When my mom needed extra attention they were able to help her in their Reflection unit. It was a great place to spend the final years of your life. What a comfort to know she was well taken care of.

I visited Brandywine Senior Living because I looked for a place for my parents. I did not think it was very clean and didn't care for the atmosphere. The rooms were smaller compared to the other facilities. The staff seemed okay.
