I toured S.H.A.R.E.. It was perfectly lovely. There was nothing wrong with that place, but it is very different. That particular facility would be more for if you wanted to transition from your house to a home; it was closer to that. It was really set up more as a community-home type of place. I really felt that that place would have been better for my mother-in-law to transition from her own home to a new facility because it would remind her of where she lived and it would remind her of her beautiful old home. It would have done that, but by the time we got to the point of placing her, she suddenly needed far more assistance, and that place just didn't have it. It was homey. I found it to be clean, but it was not sterile. The kind of place has very much what the boomer generation's homes were like. There is furniture that reminds them of what they had just left. The rooms were really just bedrooms. You have to go down the hall to get to the bathroom, just like you would at your own home. The person who assisted me during the visit was extremely helpful and very forthcoming about what the place could and could not do. She gave me the best information so that I could make an informed decision.
