My uncle is at Hackensack Meridian Health Nursing & Rehab Manor by the Sea. It was recommended to us by the assisted living where he was. He had also been there for sub-acute rehab. He has a single room right now, but it's meant for a double. His room has a television, bureau, and bed. The staff is adequate and they're very attentive. He needs a Hoyer lift to get him to sit up and has to eat a pureed diet because of his swallowing problems. There are activities. They've brought him down to see an entertainer, but other than that, I don't think he participates a lot. But they have activities. The people there are very nice, and they have programs. The place is pleasant and clean, and the staff seems knowledgeable. He's on Medicaid right now.

My fathers wedding band was stolen the day prior to my sister going to retrieve it and bring it home. 56 years anniversary just passed though it was a mistake to have brought it there its still wrong that someone would take something so personal.

My father has been in rehab here after a fall and 2-week hospital stay. The staff, therapists, and nurses are fantastic. I can't speak to the nursing home aspect, but in terms of rehab, I was very happy. The food choices are creative and varied and the quality of the food is great. The faculty is clean and doesn't feel overly institutional.

My uncle is here now and his care is deplorable. The behavior is suspicious was when i request to check on what meditations he is on. Some of his belongings have been stolen. In general I think they just due the bare minimum and are negligent. No doubt he will pass away quickly. DO NOT LET ANYONE YOU LOVE STAY THERE.

My husband spent the last two months of his life on the rehab floor at this facility. The nurses, aides, and any other staff we came in contact with were caring, kind, and compassionate. There are no words to express my gratitude to those who lovingly cared for my husband. On a daily basis, they went above and beyond their job description to help all patients on the floor. They were and will always be considered my angels. The rooms are kept immaculately clean and the food is good. If I could give a 10 star rating, I would.

8 years ago my grandmother was a resident here. The staff was so friendly and caring and attentive. We loved the place. So when it came time that we needed a place for my mother to come after her surgery we didn't think twice about coming here. It's horrible! The basically just sat and left her. They didn't even put her in a chair. 3 hours later she is still in her wheel chair. It's an hour and a half past the time she was due for her antibiotics also they haven't given her her insulin. it was nothing like this when UMH ran this place. Now that it's Meridian this place sucks!

When they were United Methodist, they were very good. Since they have been taken over by Meridian the care of its residents has declined. The staff is rude and could care less, if you try to reach the nurses’ station over the weekend, GOOD LUCK, the phone just rings and rings. If the residents hit their call bell, you can wait up to 30 minutes plus for someone to check in on you. This place needs an employee over hall. I Rate this provider a ZERO!

I liked the Manor, it's not far from the beach. I believe they do have activities there. The rooms were okay in size although I liked the room where she was now.

Out of all the nursing homes I've seen my grandmother in, Manor By the Sea was clearly the best. All of the staff knew all of the residents and personalized both the care they gave the residents as well as the attention they gave their family. So many nursing homes seem to be completely lacking stimulation. At Manor By The Sea, there were daily activities and events. None of which were what I would call condescending. Everything the residents did was chosen wisely and reflected their past, as opposed to seeming like a childish activity. The facilities were fabulous and looked as though they were hotel quality. Overall it was a fabulous facility with wonderful caretakers.

Father had rehab stint here once and then the final weeks of his life 2 years later. They were caring, respectful, kind and the care was dignified. As awful as those final weeks were, I couldn't have hoped for more graceful support.
