My brother was brought to Care One for end-of-life care after being in the hospital for over a month. I remember the intake nurse commenting on how good his skin looked. Within a week at Care One he developed a fungal infection in his groin and bottom and he couldn't be cleaned without screaming in pain. We were with him every day and witnessed him lying in his feces for hours without care. Whenever we asked for help for him, we were told, "We'll be right there." But they never came. Instead, we had to wait for the next shift to come on before someone cleaned him. I call this gross neglect! To be fair, there were about three nurses and aides who were special - conscientious and kind. And since my brother was near the end of his life, he didn't experience the food, community, and therapy aspects of Care One. However, I would not choose to bring another loved one to this facility, and I pray I never have to go there myself.

The rooms are basically a typical hospital room, maybe a teeny bit larger and are equipt with a short dresser, a wooden wardrobe with 2 drawers and a night stand, also valances on window to make it more cozy. The staff is amazing, they have selected great, empathetic individuals to care for their patients. The residents enjoy a number of activities, we gathered family together to partake in the Mother's Day Brunch and took advantage of the beautiful and large outdoor patio to soak in the gorgeous sunshine. They have bingo, musical guests and most enjoyable, Puppy Therapy! Who doesn't love a puppy!

They try and keep patients involved in daily activities. Nice outdoor patio area. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are small and not much room for patients clothing and belongings.

My father was at CareOne at Holmdel. I visited him but it was outside 90% of the time. The people seemed very nice. They were attentive and caring. They understood everybody's situation. Whatever you needed from them, they were more than happy to oblige. His room was shared. I don't know what activities they did because everybody was on lockdown due to COVID.

Health services here are Care None. They are incompetent, under staffed, uncaring and unresponsive. My Mom ended up worse after a week in rehab there rather than better. We had to transfer her to a different facility to get the care she needed that Care One is incapable of supplying. If you care about someone do not place them in this facility.

One thing that is very good here is Ms Octavia. She is an excellent CNA with better than average empathy and patience for me and my roommate. She should be awarded for her greatness. I have a heart condition and the therapist created a special therapy routine for me due to my history. I am looking forward to getting home with the condition of my heart being dissolved from my care here at care one in Holmdel. I am building my strength and endurance to get home and be functionally viable due to my physical therapy. To be continued

I was very impressed with the professional staff at CareOne during my initial visit to observe the facility. They answered all my questions regarding the admission of my brother. He has been at CareOne in Holmdel, NJ for about one week and feels very comfortable. THe nursing staff, doctors and social works are terrific in providing him with caring and professional services. Even though this is an older facility is a clean and most importantly a caring environment for patients with severe medical issues.

My husband Ita has been here just short of 7 weeks. He has received excellent care from all of the nurses and aides. He fractured his arm And the therapist have been great with helping him rehabilitate his arm. The personal administration have been wonderful! Everyone has been willing to help with any questions I may have. I would recommend this facility to anyone.

My mother was a resident at CareOne at Holmdel for many years. The staff, residents and families became part of my family. When she passed we all mourned together because that's how close everyone is at Holmdel. She was always looking her best, was happy in the daily activities, loved her caregivers, and enjoyed the dining room at meals with her friends. Several years after her passing I fell and fractured my hip. Without hesitation I came to Holmdel as a patient. The care I received was exceptional and I gained an even greater appreciation for all the hard work the staff does each day, the commitment to the well being of everyone and the high quality of care and services I received to get back on my feet and live an independent life. I still visit CareOne at Holmdel daily and see the same quality of care each and ever day !

My mom is in a nursing home that she was once in before; she is familiar with it, so we opted to go with that. She is at CareOne at Holmdel. She likes it. The property itself is nice. It is fully landscaped. It’s beautiful.

My family member was in other facilities in the past. This is by far the best. 3 others referred me to them (who have had good past experiences) and they were right. I'd ignore the negative reviews as it just doesn't fit to me and all others I know who have experienced a loved one going through rehab.

State of NJ take note - CARE ONE SHOULD BE FINED DUE TO BELOW AVERAGE FACILITY (NOT CLEAN) AND INADEQUATE STAFFING.

STAY AWAY!! Unless you are ambulatory and young, if you can't do for yourself, you will starve and lay in soaking diapers because they don't have enough staff to help you! Food service leaves the tray-if you can't eat yourself, they take the tray away and if there is no one to help you, you don't eat! Very UNDERSTAFFED. Some staffers are caring and compassionate- others are just there for the money. Call bells are not answered until they have time! They leave you on the toilet (IF they get to you to take you there) until they are ready to help you! Then they over-medicate you so you don't bother them! Even medications with the same side effects! This is a horrible place- do not put anyone you care about here unless you want to see them die before their time. Rating 1 star is too generous...it should be MINUS 5!

My sister was in a rehab at CareOne for almost a month. They're just a regular facility, nothing to brag about. However, they did the best that they could for my sister. For me, the facility was a C+ and the living environment was a C-. I just didn't like the atmosphere in their rehab facility. There were too many people around and it was too crowded, so if you need help, it is not right off. Also the food was not great. Regarding the staff, some of them were okay and were really dedicated but some of them were just putting the time in. However, they did have activities for their patients. They had bingo. Also once a week they would have somebody come in and entertain the people around. They also had a coffee shop in there. I would recommend this facility more than the other facility. They were much better when it comes to accommodations because they have a waiting room and a place for visitors.

This place is better named "Care None." Stay away or your relative will die much faster than he(she) should. I learned the lesson too late. At the beginning another patient's son told me to go away, but I was not sure. Later I personally experienced how they carelessly take "care" of patients: terrible food is delivered on time and then taken away unused in a few minutes. A patient in the same room as my mom did not eat anything for days until her daughter brought her own food. When patient needs assistance, a call is often answered 20 minutes later. I was with my mom from 8AM to 8PM for two weeks. But then in one day I asked them to take care, my mom fell on the floor and got hurt badly because she needed to go to restroom. My mom entered in the place in a reasonable condition (can eat well, think and talk normally), but in less than one month, she passed away. I felt so bad for sending her to Care One.

I chose Care One because it was close and I was able to access it every day. It was a good place and my husband got extra care there. The aides were wonderful, the nursing staff was wonderful, but I didn't appreciate their management. They didn't have enough activities for people who were in rehab. The food was good, but I wish they had fresh fruits instead of canned fruits.
