My mom was at Deptford center for rehab after a fall. The staff was so nice and caring. Her rehab was fantastic and she’s now doing well on her own at home.

My brother has been in Deptford Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare since 2019. He gets the essential services in there, including meal preparation and on-site medical evaluation. Because of COVID, I have not been allowed in that facility in over a year, so I don't know what it looks like inside. I only know what's going on because I call him and speak with him, and I have periodic conversations with the staff members. The facility looked typical of any rehabilitation center. There are two people in a room, and there's this normal smell that you expect to find in these facilities. I don't have any evidence of any abuse, as far as physical or senior abuse, but I guess my biggest concern about this facility is the lack of communication and responsiveness to family requests for information. I've dealt with the visiting administrators and primarily with two social workers. The social workers are the ones who were very responsive to my requests. They seem to follow up with my requests for information, although sometimes I have to call them back several times to get that, but I'm trying to give them some latitude here because they're overwhelmed with COVID, as well as the number of patients that they have to see. When they do respond, though, they are very responsive. The other thing about the place was, I've always been very disappointed with the exterior of the building. They have very poor lighting in the parking lot. You have to figure they have a lot of seniors coming to visit seniors, and after dark the parking lot is extremely poorly lit. They need to repair some outside electrical fixtures that have been damaged, and they've been that way since my brother has been there, so that's almost two years that they haven't repaired that. It seems like there's some neglect in there, and to me, the poor lighting in the parking lot is a safety hazard, too, but then again, that's just from what I see, since I haven't been on the inside for a year and a half now.

Like many other 1star reviews I too experienced this. My mother was 127lbs when entering. 6 weeks later she’s 116 lbs. they told me she only lost 2 lbs. they lied. They lied about numerous things. She’s a Diabetic and needs to be on a diabetic diet. They gave her a danish. Never would give her hot water for tea. Would bring her coffee and say to bad. Would call me in tears because no one would change her. Sat in her poop and pee for 3 or more hours. Never gave her meds on time. Lost her 1med and they never gave it to her for 2 days. Before I was called to pick it up from Walgreens only for them to misplace it again. Injured my mother who was there with a fractured hip plus chip in bone. Would roll her over on injured hip to change her. She hurt so bad she couldn’t move. This was 3am. Never sent her to hospital never contacted anyone. My mom called me at 6 am. They wouldn’t send her to hospital said an X-ray person will be out. 4 pm 13 hrs later she got X-rays. Prisoners get better treatment than patients in Deptford Center. It’s run so poorly, disinformation coming from staff. There is much more. Please don’t send a loved one here. Your life and there’s will be a living hell!

I have volunteered many times at the Deptford center and interacted with many of the residents. I felt that they were well cared for and quite happy with the facility. There is a lot of participation to the activities that go on in the center. Unfortunately due to covid restrictions I’ve been unable to assist in the center and look forward to returning to help out where I can.

This center is HORRIBLE! My father was here few months and the service is no where to be found as I called and called left many messages left work early and still had hard time getting a person to answer a question or a concern!!!!! The most useful person who was any help was the young lady at the welcome desk, her job is to let folks in and out the door and answer the phone, she seems to be only one to care or try to figure out the mess here! The employees dont seem to have the knowledge of care to provide as my father gave up quick and was woundering what kind of mess he was living in. The room said to be redone recently, the day I went to look at this dump they too me to a model room I later figured out yes that was redone but the rooms we had were REALLY BAD BROKEN HEATER, WINDOWS and when we asked they sent there guy in with a bed sheet and duck tape to fix draft coming through the heater and bricks, WOW GREAT JOB, I hope my review steers your future decision to another center PLEASE DO!!!!!!! The food was what they cook or grilled cheese, some folks have diet restrictions and dont wanna eat chunks of flavorless meat so its grilled cheese or nothing. Trying to ask a nurse for something the answer was well we dont use that or we have another option!Again PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE and DONT CONSIDER THIS WHATEVER IT IS

My mom was at Deptford Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare for three months. For the most part, they took very good care of her. It was a smaller facility, and there wasn't a lot for her to do there. We did have problems with some of the staff. For the most part, they were okay, but I wouldn't want her to go back there. The food wasn't so great. Actually, there were a couple of times when they didn't serve anything because something had happened in the kitchen. I ended up buying my mom and her roommate dinner twice. But I noticed the difference when my mom would get up and go to the dining room to eat, which I liked. They served the food like at a buffet. When they served the food to my mom, the food was better for some reason, but when they brought her her dinner, it was different. Some of the girls really took good care of my mom, but I didn't like them nearly as much as I like the nurses where she is now. The therapy department was very nice, and so were all of the nurses. It was just a few other things that weren't so nice.

The caregivers at Deptford Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare are very good. They have the memory care at the second floor and the people needing less care are at the ground level. They have different activities in this facility. But I would not recommend this facility to other people.
