My mom is in Bentley Commons at Bedford. They're really nice there, and my mom gets along with a lot of people. She has a roommate, so she likes it there. The physical appearance is good. Everything looks upkept. They give her physical and occupational therapy when needed, which is good. My mom needs help with the shower and they're able to do that for her, which is great. There's a lot of good choices in the food. My mom seems to like it a lot. She always tells me when she gets something nice. She's a part of the French club. I think they have a cocktail hour. The place is closing down, so my mom has to find another place.

I toured Bentley Commons at Bedford. The girl who gave me the tour was very informative. I just loved the time that I had with her. She was great. They have some smaller areas for different activities. It was very clean. They showed me a studio and a 1-bedroom. The layout of the building was confusing. You had two different wings, and you had to go up in the elevator. The drawback there is that you have to be able to walk because if there's a fire drill or something happens, you can get down the stairs. Nevertheless, it's great-looking place. They have a shuttle bus. Some residents have a car, but they can take you to doctor's appointment, dental appointment, and things like that.

The tour at Bentley Commons at Bedford went very well. It was the very first tour I'd ever done. I had a lot of questions, but they were great at answering them and I liked the facility. The rooms were very nice, a good size, and well-maintained. The menu looked fine, but I didn't try any. They had a dining area and I saw that people were having lunch. They have a very full social calendar, but I didn't observe any. The atmosphere was very cozy and comfortable. I saw the girl at the front desk and the woman that gave me the tour. It's assisted living, but with five different levels.

The in-person tour at Bentley Commons at Bedford was excellent. The staff was very informative, helpful, and thorough. The staff showed me a couple of rooms with different styles. The rooms were very nice, well presented, spacious, and would certainly work for what we needed. I saw their lunch meals, and they looked very tasty. I liked the idea that everybody did not have to eat all at the same time. It's a rural setting with lots of trees and plenty of walking areas. It appeared that they have a lot of activities for people at different levels. They also had onsite physical therapy, which I thought was very good.

Bentley Commons at Bedford was very clean. The staff seemed very friendly and attentive. I thought that the units that they showed us, both the one-bedroom and two-bedroom, were a good size. I like the location because I think it's accessible to many places. They indicated they had a barbecue one night a week in the patio area. They have a happy hour. There's a library with coffee and books. When we were there, they had a display of artwork from the residents. They had some sort of art show the weekend that preceded our visit.

I've checked the Bentley Commons at Bedford because my sister is there, and she is doing very well. She is a year younger than I am, and she's been there for four months now, and she enjoys it. It's very nice there. She is very happy there. We haven't tried eating there because the times we've gone, they've had some staff that has had COVID, so we've been eating in her room. We would bring something to eat and eat in her room instead of the dining room. She's in assisted living. Like everyone, they're short of help, but she gets the help she needs when she needs it, so that's the important thing. The few staff that I've dealt with have been very accommodating and have answered any questions I've had. I've only meant two, but everybody has been very pleasant even at some of the other clients. The facility was very well. My sister goes to the painting class, she goes to exercise class, she goes to the movies, and she goes to the sing-along they have. There are a couple of other things that she does, but I forgot what they were. We can't call her until like 7:00 at night because she's too busy all day. Right after breakfast to lunch, and then lunch until just about dinner time, she's got some activity she's at. They do a great job on her hair and her nails. She is feeling well right now. Her husband just passed away in October, so she's still obviously very sad, but she is doing very well considering the situation. The staff sometimes is brusque, a few of the LNAs, but as she said, they're so short of help that they just have a hard time keeping up sometimes from one patient to another, so she said she understands why. For the care that she needs, I think it is worth it, and she has her own apartment, which is a nice one. She has a good size living room and a little kitchen. They are not allowed anything but a microwave and coffee pot.

Since new administration has taken over,I have observed much improvement in availability of trips and activities for tesidents. However , the quality and variety of food, most likely due to lowered food budget, not the cooks, has presented poorer offerings. Also, the friendliness of the dining room staff and a great press to empty dining room quickly has resulted. At times, I have been told, it takes 20 plus minutes to give an order and by the time one gets the food, staff is already starting to clear the tables. This greatly frustrates the several residents I know at Bentley. Perhaps the facility could pay kitchen and dining room staff an extra half hour to alleviate residents and guests from feeling they are in the way , when the elderly should be able to relax and socialize at this time of their lives. Other staff exceed expectations as to their thoughtfulness and friendliness, but dining , not so much.

I really love the Bentley Commons; that was phenomenal too. The staff was very welcoming and willing to answer all my questions. You could tell that it had a very warm community feel to it, and the only reason that I actually didn’t go with them is that I didn’t feel that my parents needed the nursing care that they offers. But if they need nursing help, I will definitely take them over to Bentley Commons. It’s a beautiful place. They rooms were lovely and very spacious, and you didn’t feel like you are really in an apartment. It felt like you are in your own house, and everything had the same regulations that I was looking for. They did have a pub room and offered some things like happy hour, which honestly I thought will be fabulous for me. Their social calendar is a little more active, but at the same time they have a nurse assigned to a group of apartments.

I found Bentley Commons by looking online. My mother will move in there. The grounds are well-kept. They have one-bedroom apartments, and the rooms are fine. She has a phone in her room. The staff is helpful, friendly, and answered all our questions. They have activities. They don’t have a Protestant service on Sundays.

disappointing. My mother was told the meals were "gourmet", they are not, most come out of a can and many are sandwiches. Several times they have run of out the main entree. My mother was looking forward to swordfish and when she got to her seating, second seating, they were all out. Everyone should have at least one serving, if they wish. The staff has been cut as well, with almost 80 residents i would expect more than 2 - 4 staff on duty. Also, there does not appear to be any advocate for the senior residents, no one to look out for them. Since l live quite some distance away, it can be difficult for me to do this. Honestly, for the money and overall satisfaction, look elsewhere.
