My husband has moved to Oakey Assisted Living, and the experience was good. People were friendly. We pay for the highest care price. Any time he pulled the cord, people would come over to help him out. As far as nurses and people that monitor all his medications and everything, so far I'm pretty happy with that. The place was pretty clean. The meals are good. Everybody is nice and friendly. I chose a studio for him with his own shower and everything. So far, I'm OK with that. They have a laundry room. They have an activity place, where you can get together and play a game. They can exercise. They have a public little kitchen area where you can make your own popcorn. Your own room also has your own refrigerator and a microwave oven. There's a backyard, where you can walk outside and have some sun. It's a very quiet environment. In terms of value for the money, they're reasonable; I have been to different places.

I toured Oakey Assisted Living. I thought the people there were incredible, they were generous and welcoming to Mama even though she didn't choose them. They called her back even though she didn't choose them so I thought that was excellent. It's just that the place was older and the rooms were small. I saw really good care, I saw people going forward to help those residents without being pushed. They were smiling when they were pushing those people around. And one lady wanted to tell us about her husband's death and it was clear it was fresh, and they were patient with her. Even though they were courting us to get mama to go here, they were kind to her and thoughtful. They listened to her, talked about her good point, and moved on. I was impressed with that. They're very kind, I would put my mom there in a heartbeat if not for the rooms. The place didn't smell of pee, they were clear about their pricing and there were no surprises.

The Oakey Assisted Living is very clean and nice. Their dining facility is nice too. It's spacious and the food menu looks really good. My grandmother also has the option to eat in her room so they deliver it. She's in their assisted living. The staff is very friendly and very quick to help out. They'll personally call me on my cell phone if there are any issues. The rooms are nice for my grandma's needs. She lives in a studio that's very nice with a very big bathroom and kitchen area. They have live shows, music, and then the normal elderly activities like exercises and bingo. The maintenance guys there are nice. I paid the linen service so they do her laundry. The place is worth it. The cost is lower than the normal assisted living costs here in Vegas.

I looked at Oakey Assisted Living. The outside environment looked like it was in a bad section of town. The inside of the facility was not very nice. It looked dirty. There is a kitchenette. There is a salon. It is a gated community. The woman who gave the tour was a five. She was friendly. You could relate to her. I think she showed us everything. We did see the dining room and whatnot, but everybody was eating in their rooms at this point. The facilities were average. I didn't like the neighborhoods. The road was in poor condition. Even the inside was very dim. It looked like it needed new carpeting. It's doesn't look like it's been updated in a while. A lot of the rooms were small. It was a one-bedroom unit, and it was 505 square feet. The one-bedroom was nice as far as size goes.

My dad has moved into Oakey Assisted Living. They let me come in and look at it. It is wonderful. They have been great. The staff members so far have been good. The director is awesome. She has helped us every step of the way. My dad's room is very nice; the bathroom is very spacious. The food is awesome. My dad is really happy over there, especially with the food; he can't wait to get to the food. His room is very good. They have a nice dining room, and there are some outside sitting areas, but we haven't been able to see everything. The outside area when you come in the hallway is really nice and clean. They have some sitting areas for visitors. I only worked with a couple of the staff members, and so far they have been very good. The place is very nice. The value for the money is wonderful. The location is also convenient because it is right behind me. It has worked out really good.

I went to Oakey Assisted Living. It was good for assisted living, but I also needed a place where memory care would be a part of it. The dining area was a four. They provide assisted living, med checks, and they provide activities. The neighborhood around it is not safe.

I love the staff from Oakey Assisted Living. The room set-up was very nice and the atmosphere was friendly. The price was better. I didn't like the location, but I like the place. They have quite a bit of activities, too. It is perfect for my mom and I hope she feels that way. It is a gated community with 55 and older around it. It is in the middle, which is nice, but I couldn't find parking.

We went to Oakey Assisted Living. It was really nice, and it was smaller, but we really liked it. The staff was phenomenal and my sister and I liked them the best for price, from the way they looked, to how friendly everyone was. The staff knew everybody's name, and it's like a true family setting. They're inside a gated community and they have access to everything in the community. It's closer to downtown Las Vegas. The food smells good coming from the kitchen, and it's very clean.

My aunt has moved into Oakey Assisted Living. They're fine. The reason I picked them is because they have enough caregivers for the number of residents that they have. I like this community. The physical appearance is very good, especially because it is a gated community, so you have to have a passcode to get in. It is also kept up very well. My aunt seems very happy with the staff. They have bingo and a lot of happy hours with a lot of entertainers that come in. However, I'm not happy about their activities director because she is a little hard on the seniors.

Oakey Assisted Living was absolutely fabulous and I just loved everything about it. Their food was absolutely delicious. The rooms were fine and I looked at two different sized rooms, a studio and 1-bedroom. Everything was excellent and beautiful. The staff seemed to be very nice. I would love to be able to go there.

I am a care giver for an 83 year old gentleman who is living in the Oakey Assited Living facility. His daughters who live in Utah were sold a bill of B.S. to get them to put their father in this facility. Since he moved in in March the staff has had several turn overs including the administrator and the salesman who sold the girls on this place. Also the new administrator has made a lot of changes to cut cost but the quality of care has suffered and there is no registered nurse on duty at this facility. How can that be. I asked the new administrator and she told me it was not a requirement which is surprising to me. The facility has also changed ownership during this time. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

My mom is happy with the facility and the amenities at Oakey Assisted Living and it's close to our church. It's a two-story home. It has three wings, nice elevators, and they provide a progression of care. Right now, my mom doesn't need anything. She has her own car and she has covered parking. There are three meals a day, plus there's fruit and snacks available at other times. They're not perfect, but it certainly is comfortable. She's happy with her place. It couldn't be more perfect. She has had a couple of things she wanted addressed and they're available and listen to her. Especially when I've been there for meals, the staff has been friendly and attentive. The food is good. She has done several things there. She pays $3,000 a month and it covers her cable, TV, her meals, housekeeping once a week, and they do her laundry. They also have laundry facilities and there's covered parking.

I was impressed with Oakey Assisted Living by Destinations. The staff was fine and very responsible. I liked the cleanliness and the way everything was situated. It looked like it was easy to get around, and they catered to your needs. They had a workout room, a computer room, and a TV. They had a good chef and the dining room was small but very nice.

I really like Destinations at Oakey. It was older, and it was totally remodeled, but the staff was really great. The food was wonderful. The apartments were nice. Actually it was one of the places where I was almost going to put money down, and then I didn't because the family decided to leave my mother-in-law in Ohio. The only thing I didn't like about them is that it was like in an apartment complex almost. They were behind the lock gate, but still in an apartment complex, and I didn't like the idea of my mother-in-law being able to walk away from there and then being exposed to people living in apartments. I wasn't excited about that, but I probably still would have considered them because I like them a lot even though they weren't as nearly as luxurious as the other places. I like the atmosphere, I like the people there, and the community was very clean.

Destinations at Oakey was very nice, and the apartments are pretty good-sized -- like a studio kind of apartment. The staff was very nice, friendly, and very knowledgeable. The residents were playing Bingo when we were there, and the dining area was nice, clean, and looks like a buffet-style cafeteria.

Destinations in Oakey is kind of like a hotel-type of arrangement. It's one big unit, a little bit more modern and newer. I've only been there twice.

I was just looking for a place and got the chance to visit the facility. The place is good, the people were nice and I was heartily welcomed when I visited. I will give them 5 star rating based on my experience and based on other's feedback as well. I will most likely recommend the the facility to others.
