The staff was excellent with my dad. They were attentive, yet let him be his own person. When he was going through the death process, they were kind, gentle, and loving to him and myself. They were prompt with his meals and repositioning him in bed.

About The Waterford at Wilderness Hills Memory Care in Lincoln, Nebraska
At the highly rated Waterford at Wilderness Hills Memory Care, we are driven by the will to serve. While we can't control the process of dementia, we will do whatever we can to ensure comfort and safety. It might be the least we can do and we take this responsibility very seriously. We want to assure you that our caring goes beyond just providing a safe environment or amenities. We welcome and embrace your loved one into our family. This is their home. It’s where they live now and it is our responsibility to make sure they feel that way irrespective of their condition. We want you to know that you are not placing your loved one in a facility. You are allowing us to be your extended family. Our team is focused on making residents feel comfortable and secure. There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to caring. Each resident is unique and while there are lots of amenities and services, we always pay attention to details, medical needs, personality type or any other unique condition that requires our attention. Our residents may not always be aware of how much we care of how special they are. Or, maybe they are? It makes no difference to us. We are here to serve your loved one.
Our team is trained and specializes in “skilled, individualized personal care” for residents with Dementia or Alzheimer conditions, memory impairment, disorientation and behavioral redirection. We have taken great care to assemble a team of professionals who are Certified Dementia Practitioners (CDP) and who are specifically trained to care for our unique residents. Our memory care facility is designed to help make residents feel at home - unrestricted and free to move about the facility.
OUR PRIORITY: Safe & Secure Environment Above All! Included among the many steps we take to ensure safety is our 24-hour monitoring of anyone entering or exiting the facility, secured exit doors and proper signage.

The people at The Waterford at Wilderness Hills Memory Care weren't very on top of things. I had an appointment and the person that we spoke to wasn't there, so the person who gave me the tour wasn't knowledgeable. It was a clean facility, and they were friendly, but they weren't skilled on what to show and what to talk about, probably because it wasn't their job to begin with. The parking area was spacious.

I visited Waterford at Wilderness Hills. It was fine, but I did not think mom would fit in very well. The apartments looked good.

Waterford at Wilderness Hills seemed clean; however, there didn’t seem like there were many activities, and it was a smaller community. It was a brand new building, but it only had 14 beds, and there was no real set schedule or activities there, so I didn’t think it would fit. They were private rooms.

We visited The Waterford at Wilderness Hills Memory Care. It was nice and adequate but didn’t feel homey. There was nothing wrong with them other than we found the another place to be smaller and more home-like for my husband. But The Waterford at Wilderness Hills Memory Care was very helpful and very kind to us.

Experience was perfect and wonderful at The Waterford at Wilderness Hills. The apartment was just the right size; he had enough space, and he also wasn’t overwhelmed with the largeness of too much new space. It was private, but he had access to community rooms that were also very home-feeling. They had a very individual approach when it came to meals, they offer meals whenever the patient was ready to eat, and they assisted as much as the patient would allow. They were engaged and personalized with my dad, which was very nice. They treated him like family, and each staff member as they came on the shift, really learned what kind of emotion within that day and what they needed to have. Their level of training for memory loss was at a very high level, and they understood what it took to work with the patient like that.

I visited The Waterford for my husband. My visit was fine, but it was new, and it wasn't filled yet. It is a small facility. The surroundings were very nice.
