We moved to The Legacy because of the amenities, the facilities, and so forth. We feel comfortable here. The staff is excellent. The food is satisfactory. They've got a lot to deal with a lot of different tastes, and they make a very good effort and we're happy with it. There are a lot of programs here, lectures, theater, movies, parties, receptions, events, and so forth. So, we're pretty busy. We have a two bedroom with a kitchen and a balcony.

The Legacy was good. I appreciated the fact that there were people who were out and about and doing things. They were active. The staff was very willing and eager to help people do things, and suggest things. The way it was set up was that people were not isolated. In other words, independent living and assisted living could intermingle and be friendly to each other. The staff was friendly and interactive, and the communication among the staff that I could observe was good. I looked at their menu, and it was just fine.

I'm now in assisted living at The Legacy. I was independent and I just moved two floors down. It's very nice. They have a corner with birds that you can watch and they have tables where you can do jigsaw puzzles. The staff is very helpful. They help me dress and shower. They've got pretty good food. They have bingo, and we just got done with a four-week series of Legacy of the West. There are so many activities. You could be busy every day with several things.

My mother is a resident of The Legacy for a couple of months now. The community treat their clients like royalty, they encourage them to get out of their rooms, and have all kinds of activities that are enjoyable like fun games. They can also have their nails taken care of and hair done. They eat in the dining room, they have a waiter or waitress that come and pick their order, and there's food that's pretty amazing. They've got very fancy like goblets and they're allowed to have wine on Fridays. They have really incredible meals, and there's a chef who plan their meals. It's pretty good that they have their own bank, a post office, a little store, and it's pretty incredible. They have a room that you can get for your family with pool tables and a fireplace. There's a little lake with ducks and geese that they feed. A person comes in to clean their apartment once a week. And it's a pretty nice apartment that my mom is in. There's also a button they can push if they need help. The staff is always very delighted to help. They never make you feel like you're a problem, they act like they're delighted to help and it's no trouble at all. They're pretty amazing. My mom is allowed to have her pet cat, some people also have dogs. My mom is currently independent, but if needed she can go over to the assisted where there's more help for them. We've been nothing but pleased with the attitude towards my mom and their ability in making you feel safe and cared for. The maintenance came in and hung all her pictures, if she needs something they would come and fix something. She has her own kitchen with full appliances, and a washer and dryer thats stackable, in the bathroom. If one day she won't be able to take her own bath, you just pay a tiny fee and someone comes in to help. You can do that in the assisted living side, but of course that comes with a price. There's an option called Independent Living Plus, where you can have extra done for small fees. Like they have a car that could take her if she need to go somewhere. You can pay out-of-pocket for a year and then you can go into Medicaid. Most places in Lincoln don't do that, you can only go to Medicaid after paying for three years. The decorations are wonderful, they really work to keep people from isolating. They really encourage them to come out and have fun with groups. They bring in bands like country Western bands. They have different type of activities which is really amazing, and even simple things like bingo. They just come up with all kinds of neat things for them to do. They have exercises and a gym that's free of charge, and also a trainer that helps you with no extra charge. They cover all aspects of a healthy life and a good life. Then if your family wants to come and eat with you in the dining hall, it's not that expensive.

I liked The Legacy Retirement Community and the people seemed to be pleased there. It's a little newer.

The Legacy was very nice, very upscale, and had a very comfortable feeling, but it was more expensive. I was satisfied with my tour there.

I thought The Legacy was a very nice, large, comfortable facility. Staff was friendly and seemed to have a lot of resources for their clients. The halls were a little long, and it might be difficult for some patients or clients to get to the dining area from their rooms. But it seemed to be clean and well kept. They have large dining areas, rehab, and recreation areas.

The rooms were OK and spacious at The Legacy. The food was all good, and what impressed me most was the nice room. They have lots of things to do like entertainment, and they have transportation. The place was safe and secure.

I knew people that lived in the Legacy. It was a nice place, but my mother preferred another place. The food is very good. I thought it was a little bit dark in some of the rooms. Security is very good.

Its a very beautiful facility! The meals are great and the activities are plentiful. The only thing I did not like was the staff. They are extremely rude, not only to me but to my loved one. They always try to make things easier on themselves even I it meant my giving the proper care. If they got more professional staff, it would be a nice place but I would not recommend it.

Legacy Retirement Homes are retirement homes that include an assisted living area within the Retirement Homes. They include parking garages, theater, exercise room, gift shop, barber shop/salon, bank, snack area and dining areas as well as activities for the residents. Activities within the homes include football watching parties and bingo games and outside activities include trips to areas of interest. The staff was also pleasant to work with and learned not only the residents names but much of the time learned the family members names as well. They were attentive to the residents and notified families of any problems or issues. We would definitely recommend Legacy Retirement Homes. If you do not think you can afford a retirement home but need assisted living, contact them, as they are sometimes able to make financial arrangements to assist low-income residents who need assisted living.
