I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My parents used to be in Tabitha Residence Harbor House. It was beautiful, that's what I liked best. You felt like you were really doing the right thing for your loved ones, but when you get into it and you realize that there is no staff around, and when you can find staff, they're sitting around on their phones or computers. There's no music, no television, no activities, and people are just left. One gentleman was left at the breakfast table from morning 'til lunch, and we found medication on the floor. I found my mom with medication in her hand that they didn't want to take, and I said I didn't know if it was hers or somebody else's. They don't answer calls from my parents several times, because they have motion alarms on their beds. The last time I went in there weren't even any batteries in their motion alarms. I've never seen this sort of negligence in a facility with this type of reputation. They had a significant rapid decline, so the best thing I ever did was get them out of there. If you could find the staff, they were not responsive. I actually had one lady kind of laughing about the fact they found my mom on the bathroom floor. Her purse was gone from her room, and her wedding ring. There's just so much unprofessionalism when we moved out; they were hostile to us and our movers. It was just really uncalled for. Mom and Dad have very good long-term care insurance, and it was still $10,000 a month over. So it's unbelievably expensive. They said that they had all kinds of things that they would do with them, but they didn't. They never made an effort to get my dad out of bed. I would recommend for them to have a responsive staff and a responsive management. When things started going poorly, when we said we were going to move, nothing was communicated. Nobody contacted us at different times when Mom and Dad would fall, or if things would happen. It's just poor communication. They need some type of communication, they need accountable staffing and management. It's just so poorly run, and it's very disappointing because they have such a good reputation.
