My mother has been in Oak Pointe of Washington. It's a nice facility. It's a little over a year old. The people are very friendly. The workers, all the ones that I've met, have been very friendly and helpful. My mom has a studio. It's just one room and a bathroom. So far, I haven't had really any complaints with them. The only problem I had so far was the choice of pharmacy, because they require medicines on a bubble pack instead of in a bottle, and it's a little bit more expensive that way, but there's nothing I could do about that. That's just the way it goes. She says the food is very good, and she doesn't have to cook it. The facility is fine. The only thing is that I refuse to have my mother get the COVID shot, and if she leaves the facility, she's quarantined for three days. Her door can be open to a room, but she can't leave her room. She can't go out into the hall, she can't go down for dinner, and they bring her meals to her, and that kind of stuff. That's the only drawback to the place is, because of not opening up as far as the COVID thing, even though it's over. They have bingo a couple of nights a week. The other night they had a band playing country music for them. I haven't talked to Mom too much about what's goes on out there, but my mother has become a social butterfly, I know that. There is a couple of people there that she knew, and she's met a whole bunch others. They have a hairdresser that comes in once a week, and as long as you're not under quarantine, you can go see her on Mondays, make an appointment with her, and they cut their hair. They have not reinstated their bus yet because of the pandemic, but she'd be able to if she wanted to. Later on, once they get loosened the rules on that, then she'll be able to take a bus to go shopping, or take her to church, or take her to a doctor, or whatever. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. It doesn't matter if you're a resident or a visitor, they'll answer questions for you to the best of their ability.

We toured Oak Pointe of Washington yesterday. The visit was fine. It's a very nice new facility. The tour giver was very easy to talk to and friendly. Everything looked great. It's only about four years old, and everything looked well done and kept nicely.

We are choosing Oak Pointe of Washington for my husband. It opened less than a year ago and it's in our community, so he feels very comfortable. We'll probably have him there in a couple of weeks. We liked that it has a very good community life in memory care. The caregivers are very much involved with the residents. It is cheerful, sunny, and light. My husband also knew a couple of people who are in memory care that he knows from many years ago, so that was a bonus. The facility is very beautiful. The whole process of application to get in has been very, very thorough and very, very professional. I think he will be very happy there. Everybody has very positive energy. I know my husband will be very encouraged and I feel that he will improve. He's so looking forward to being there. The staff is tuned in to the people that they serve. The dining areas are just wonderful, cheerful, and comfortable. The atmosphere is wonderful. There is security. Before you go in, you call at the door and they will unlock the door for you to have you come in. And then when you go in, there's the dining area, which is all very open. There are two double doors that go out to a very large courtyard that is fenced in with a beautifully wrought iron fence with walkways, and it's self-contained. The rooms are bigger than where he is now. And looking at how the residents decorated their rooms, I believe it's a reflection of how they feel there - very homey, very cozy, and very clean. The outside appearance is beautiful. It's a smaller facility.

We visited Oak Pointe of Washington and it was very nice. The staff seemed very nice, the place was very, very nice, clean, and the room that we looked at was really a nice, spacious room. I would have had no complaints with my parents moving there. We went in just to basically see what the room looked like, to see if it was someplace my dad would wanna go with mom when she got out of the hospital.
