Mom moved into Sugar Creek. It was built seven years ago, so it's pretty new. She moved into her own apartment that is brand new, her wing is brand new. It's very nice and I like it. You walk in the door and to the left is the living room area, and to the right is the big bathroom. And then back in the main room, there is a microwave, a sink, cabinets, and drawers. And then her bedroom area. She has two walk-in closets which are both quite large, and a big bedroom area. I think she'll like it there. The food is very good, she loves it. They have a chef there. Breakfast is made to order, and then lunch and dinner menus are already decided. She has care around the clock. They help her shower and they help her dress. The staff is very friendly and very caring. They have a salon, a large theater room, and about six covered garden areas. There are sidewalks all around it where the seniors can walk outside and take a little stroll. There's a bus that takes them on outings. The whole place is clean. I have not seen one thing broken.

Sugar Creek has assisted living and memory care. They have two buildings right next to each other. They have a wonderful chef. The food was delicious and we ate lunch there. The facility is clean and beautiful and it's new. The rooms were very nice and I looked at the largest one. It had a lovely bath, a nice walk-in closet, and it had a little kitchenette with a refrigerator, a sink, and cabinets. They had a theater room with a big screen and they had an all-purpose room with a big piano. They also do all kinds of crafts and activities. I think they take them shopping in different places and it's just really nice. It's what I would love to have if I had to go into assisted living.

My mother likes Sugar Creek very much. They have efficiency rooms geared toward senior living so they have wider bathroom doors, bathrooms set up with bars and seats, and there's a nice closet to store all the items in. They have a little kitchenette with a refrigerator and a microwave. It's all on one level and it makes it easier for them to get around and visit the other residents. It's very comfortable and appealing to the eye, and the things are well maintained, cared for, and up-to-date. There are a couple of common areas for family get-togethers, like for a birthday meal buffet or dinner. There's also a larger area for the residents to go, play bingo, or do things. They have people come in and do entertainment and they also have outings. The food has a good variety and a good flavor. The staff is very friendly. Everybody knows everybody. Even though the manager was not there, one of the other staff members was able to answer our questions.

My mother is at The Arbors at Sugar Creek. It's memory care, which is pretty hard to find with assisted living. It's small with only 12 residents at the moment. There's a registered nurse on-site. It's a very caring place. The room she's in is semi-private, has a window, and is pretty basic. It's very conveniently located. There's a doctor who comes on-site, and his office is across the street. It's a very well-kept facility, and the grounds are lovely. I was impressed with everything about it. It's more expensive than what I was looking for but for the level of care that she's getting, it's definitely worth it.

My mother is in Sugar Creek. I like that they are very helpful and very flexible with whatever we need. They have a garden, TV, cards, and trips out. The rooms are very nice, very clean, and accommodating.

I visited Sugar Creek. They only had 24 units in their building, so the facility was extremely quiet. The staff who took us around was very knowledgeable and very good. We were very pleased with the visit. The place was extremely clean and orderly, but I didn’t see very many residents. The living room was fairly small but beautiful. They were having some people from the community performing A Christmas Carol. The residents were playing instruments, also, so that was very nice. We looked at an alcove room, which I really liked.

I dealt with the staff and provider in a very unique sense. While I was invited out, I could often stop in and talk to whomever I wished. It was a very open facility. I know that the doors were locked during off hours, but during visiting hours, the doors were open. No one really had to check in, as the building I normally visited was the common area. The staff at this facility was very friendly. It wasn't super posh, but everything was clean and well taken care of. The activities director was very sweet, and ensured the residents at least had one monthly party/lunch where family members and friends were invited to mingle with each other. There might be a different setup now, but at that time it was quite nice.
