My mom is in Lincoln County Nursing & Rehab for short-term care. She's there for rehab. So far, they've kept in contact with me about things going on, her physician check ups, and the physician that visits the place used to be our primary physician. They do have in-house activities. Most of the meals are provided, and if they want snacks, soda, or something, they use vending machines, and we have a small account set up for that. They're probably the second worst rating in the state. They seemed to have treated her well, and they have been open with their information with me, and I'm very pleased with that. They've had an employee that tested positive with Covid, they tested all the patients next morning, and they called me with results immediately, and I'm pleased with that.

I put my mom in Lincoln County Nursing & Rehab but there was a COVID outbreak so I took her out of there. I had been there before, so I kind of knew what was up with that place. It was kind of a dump, but it was what I could afford. She was happy with the food. It was all right and she didn't complain about it. I didn't eat it myself but it looked okay for old people's food. The floors were nice and shiny but the rooms themselves and the place were very old and outdated. Even though the floors were shiny, they were very old-style floors. They probably hadn't been updated since the 70s. The rooms hadn't been updated since then, as well, and they're small with shared bathrooms. With the amount of money that I had to put out, I just felt like they could have updated their building and their beds. There were a few activities that the residents could do like bingo and church. It was kind of 50/50 on the staff. Some of the staff were nice and friendly. The aides were always trying to help and the cleaning people were very nice. With the nurses themselves, I would ask questions about when the doctor came in and saw my mom and one nurse told me I'd have to look at her chart and see what the doctor said. I asked if she could do that but she never did. I didn't get the value for my money at all. They did not rehabilitate her at all while she was there, which she needed desperately, and I was pretty disappointed about that. She pretty much just sat in her room and, every once in a while, she went to bingo. Sometimes she ate at the cafeteria, sometimes she didn't.

The place is terrible. Food quality is awful at best and in very small quantities. Most of the nursing staff pretty much doesn’t give a crap about patient care. Not once did I receive pain medications in less than 1-hour from request with the longest being 2-hours and 15 minutes from request. I actually observed a night nurse sleeping at her computer 1-hour after I requested pain meds. Don’t recommend this place to anyone, regardless of cost.

I had a relative who was in the care of Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab. We felt very hopeful when she was transferred from a different care facility to Lincoln because they promised change; change in diet, change in physical therapy, and change involving a set of better skilled nurses. We did notice a change, albeit for the worse. They attempted physical therapy, failed immediately and never put forth any effort after that. There were no changes in diet, it was the same unhealthy, unappetizing food as the last facility. Not to mention they were serving sodium rich meals like mushroom soup and a bologna sandwich to residents with heart conditions. The room was always filthy, foul smelling, and cluttered with various care items belonging to the nursing home that should have been placed in a closet. While visiting, the wait time on patient calls were outrageous. We often had to go to the nurses station after 15-20 minute waits and request that they come to the room to help the resident. Important care items like wheel chairs and lifts were always broke or missing. Over the course of the stay, my relatives health only declined from numerous infections, bed sores, etc. To say the care my relative received from Lincoln was poor is an understatement. They will tell you what you want to hear but they will not properly take care of your loved ones.
