My wife is at Liberty Health and Wellness. The food situation is atrocious. They give them hardly anything to eat. They give them a hamburger bun with a slab of ham on it and some broccoli, and that's supposed to be a meal. My wife is not very happy. She called me at 3:00 in the morning and she is still sitting in her pee. The techs aren't doing their jobs. If she is in a great deal of pain, it takes forever for them to get down to give her a shot. Most of the nurses are good, though. They provide them with three meals a day. The state of the building is pretty clean. They got bingo and stuff like that. It's just that this is a government facility and it is $10,000 a month. That's ridiculous.

Staff was great, food was okay. Did not see a doctor the entire 8 day stay! Could not get an X-ray because their 1968 X-ray machine would not fit under the world war 2 surplus beds.

My aunt was recently (a week ago) released from Liberty Hospital to Liberty Terrace. I had heard stories about the lack of care but also that they had recently gone under new management. Whatever it was before it has certainly changed for the better. The place was clean, there were Xmas decorations everywhere, and the staff greeted me all the way down the hall. My aunt is mentally challenged and they were so sweet to her, very patient and even moved her to a room closer to the nurses' station so they could keep an eye on her. The food was good and they offered my family and I complimentary dinners. My aunt's caseworkers were up to date on her case, the nursing staff knew what the doctors had ordered for her and even contacted them to modify her meds on a Sunday when they noticed how agitated she was. This was the best nursing home I've ever experienced.

My sister was there twice within the last 3 years. This past week she had to go again and wow - things have really gone downhill.... Not up to par as far as upkeep, cleanliness is weak, folks passing the buck "not their job"... Ugh. They put her in a wheelchair while she watched TV just in case she needed to go to the bathroom. When she was in the hospital she was walking to the bathroom. Entered on a Wednesday - it's Monday evening and she's yet to see a doctor. Disappointed doesn't begin to describe it.

Facilities were nice enough with the exception of the smell. The location was convenient and met our needs. I know all assisted living facilities have an odor but in this palace it was very strong. The staff was nice enough however they had a tough time following the doctors care instructions. Patient was recovering from a joint surgery with instructions to not bathe until bandages were removed. Two days in patient was given a bath. Patient required an elevated toilet that was not installed until over 24 hours into the stay. Pain medication was not received timely. The food was truly awful even for institutional grade food. Again the staff was very nice and the facilities were clean but I hope to never see the inside of that joint again.
