Summit View Terrace has about 49 residents. They have a very nice, wide open area on the outside. They have a nice dining room with all three meals included. The people are very nice and they care for my wife and all the residents very well. You can share a room and they have two beds to a room if you need to for cheaper, but they also have studios. They have Bingo three times a week, people come in to entertain once or twice a week, there's a private separate kitchen if your family wants to reserve it for special occasions, a small gym with three or four pieces of equipment, and out back they have a paved path that residents can use in wheelchairs or walkers, and a big patio in the front.

My mom lives with us and we selected Summit View Terrace for respite stay while my family went out of town. Sadly, my mom and I were taken in by Summit's façade when we were researching and visiting assistive living facilities. There were hints that this place was not what it seemed after seeing dead bugs on the floor of her room, questionable sheets, and a dirty bathroom before I dropped her off to go on vacation. Also, the only meals my mom ate were breakfast and a turkey sandwich due to limited food selections. One day I called my mom to ask what she had for dinner and her response was hotdogs which she did not want or eat. I think my mom would have starved if it wasn't for friends and family members checking in on her daily. In addition, my mom's arms and legs were covered with bug bites when she returned home after our vacation. Nevertheless, we are very disappointed in this facility and would never use or recommend them to friends or family.

We really liked SummitView Terrace. My mom thought it needed to be a little more updated, but she liked it. It was a nice and clean place, but Mom wanted to be as independent as possible. The people were very nice. We were there at lunchtime, and the food was very good. The dining area was clean and nice. The entire place was extremely clean.

SummitView Terrace was spacious and very nice with a very good kitchen facility. The staff is extremely friendly. The residents seemed to be happy and played bingo, card games, and did spelling bees. The Social Director actually goes to each room to inform the residents of what’s going on and escorts them down to the activities. It’s a small facility, so it’s a family-friendly location.

My visit at SummitView Terrace was good. However, they weren't quite as clean, and their apartments weren't quite as nice as the others. The staff was nice. Their doors were not locked from inside out, which would've been kind of a risk. Price wise, they were still a little bit out of our reach right now. The residents seemed happy, and they had activities to participate in. They had some nice areas for them to go to do different things like read, and watch television. They had a nice garden, a sunroom, and real nice walking trail. Their dining room looked nice, clean, and roomy. They had a timeframe for each meal, and they had a lot of choices. If you didn't want the main entrée, they always had regular type food as a substitute; i.e., hamburger, hotdog, salad.

My mother lived in SummitView Terrace for two years before she got sick and was transferred for skilled care. She was there until February. The plan is if she ever gets well to go back again and make it her home. It is a small and homey place; you get to know the staff, and the staff gets to know them. They're familiar with everything. There is no question about what their needs are. They have a lot of activities for them. One thing I really liked about it is that they let you have your pets there, so my mother was able to have her dog. The administration and everybody go out of their way to make sure that all of your questions are answered. They treat their residents more like family than just another old person. They called numerous times since my mom has been gone and in the hospital, checking on her and sending her cards. We had to move her stuff out, but they allowed us to just leave it in storage, and then hopefully in two or three months, when she is able to go back, we can move it back. They work with you and try to make things as easy as possible for you. There's not a big turnover in staff, and all the staff has been very good.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this facility. The staff is very helpful to both the residents and the visitors. They are very welcoming and there are many places for family to visit other than the rooms of those that are being visited. It is a very kid friendly facility as they have birds and entertainment in the main living room. Several times throughout the year there are special days for everyone to invite their family to the facility. There is usually a meal in the main dining room as well as outdoor areas for visiting. There is a little kitchen area for residents to have snacks and drinks other than in the main dining room. The whole place is very clean and upbeat. My family has always felt very welcome there and I feel that the residents are very well taken care of.
