My mom was able to go back to the assisted living that she was in previously at Valley Park North. It's a beautiful facility. They have a very caring staff. We can go in to visit her. There are currently no restrictions, just wearing masks and taking temperatures. She has been there since June. It's assisted living, but she also is on hospice, so that gives the extra level of care that she needs to be able to stay where she is. It's very good care. They do have some staffing issues like with everybody else keeping good staff. If they could keep it fully staffed, that would be better. They have an activity director, and they do exercises and fun activities. The location is right across the street from her doctor and it's close to her family members.

My interaction with the staff member name Brittany was horrible! I thought my Aunt was having a stroke, and Brittany laughed about it, stating that she was just in my aunt’s room and my Aunt “looked” fine. Not only did Brittney confess to not having any medical knowledge whatsoever, she also showed no interest in helping me seek medical attention for my Aunt. Brittney told me that I did not have power of attorney, which meant I had no business contacting the facility about my Aunt possibly having a stroke. I had to call the Fulton Police Department to get help. I told Brittney that I would be reporting her, which she thought was not important because I do not have a power of Attorney! Since when is it necessary to have a POA in order to seek medical attention for patients at this living facility? Brittney quickly hurried me off of the phone because she was getting off from work soon and did not want to continue the conversation. Please do us all a favor and get rid of Brittney as an employee at this facility. If she is an example of how employees there should be, the facility is going to be in major trouble, including legal trouble which was where I was going had the medical crew I called found my Aunt to be suffering with a stroke. Make it make sense!!

We moved my dad into Valley Park Retirement. They said they could care for my dad, and we really like the place. We wanted to be in Fulton (if at all possible), so it fits all those criteria. They're taking good care of him, and we're pleased with it. They watch out for him. They included him in their activities, and they're very caring. Well looking at the menus and from what I've heard, the food is really good. They have bingo. They have exercises. They have church. They do have movies. They have a variety of things. We wanted the place to be Fulton, and so it is. The location was a big thing for our decision. It's a small place, there's only 18 to 19 people that are there. They have a lot of attention.
