My dad moved into the Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau three days ago. It's a new facility here, so it's very clean. The staff is nice. They're very helpful. They pretty much have everything. They have a full gym for physical rehab. They have shuttles that take them to their doctor's appointments, and dialysis, because he does that three times a week. They have meals brought in. They have a cafeteria or dining area. It's set up kind of like a hotel. Each wing has its own courtyard as far as where the residents can go out and sit under the gazebo, and they have little waterfalls, and they've got it set up nice. I think there are probably a few shared rooms, but the majority of them are private. They also have private suites, but we didn't need anything like that. So if we were to go long term though, we would probably just stay there.

It smelled quite bad. Urine smells lingered in the air. The alzheimer's area was nice, it had a piano and was locked off from the different sections and more heavily monitored. They had activities going on during the weekends, like Bingo. It wasn't the cleanest place, but it was very lively. The nurses seemed very caring and attentive. They seemed to work a lot of hours at a time. The rooms where quite big, but they had to share rooms. one tv for two different people. The beds didn't look too comfortable. And there were always nurses keeping track of the heart rate monitors. Doctors from all over town visits patients. With doctors on staff for people who do not have a family doctor.
