I had spinal fusion surgery on August 23, 2012. The neurosurgeon felt it was necessary for me to go to a rehabilitation/nursing home for physical therapy and special needs care. It was my first experience leaving the hospital and going to this type of facility. I am 67 years young and hope to continue a healthier path than the one I was on with spine pain that kept me in bed and limited by activities so severely. The staff at Bethesda were so accommodating and accepting of my demands due to severe pain I was in, my whinning too! They worked me until I got a sense of humor back. They supplied with all the ice bags they could find in their freezer. Not too many patients with my type of problem had been residents there but they forged ahead with confidence and everything they did was a comfort. The physical therapy people were great, putting me through routines specific to my area of surgery, they even have a warm water pool there with inpool treadmill, how wonderful is that. The food was most times better than good and I even took some recipe ideas to use at home! I was there a fast five weeks and felt that I was given so much insight into what they do, not only for my specific needs but for others suffering from strokes, diabetes, and they are becoming a Magnet Center for Parkinson patients. They are getting bigger and better and I won't be nervous or afraid if and when I need them in the future. The experience was utmost positive and I thank you for the opportunity to brag on the facility in this forum.

My wife has had some therapy at Bethesda, so we’re familiar with the people. They’re in the process of rebuilding. The rooms are good -- small but nice. They have an activities person, they have Bible studies, and all kinds of activities. The food tasted good, and my wife always liked it. The staff is knowledgeable. We liked it there.

My father stayed at Bethesda before he passed away. It was a great place. It had very nice people. They were very attentive, helpful, and very friendly. He was in a private room. It was a small rehab room. I had not eaten there, but my sister did, and she thought it was really good. I saw their list of activities, and they had bingo, music nights, and church services. The counselors and the case managers stood out for me.
