My husband has been to Hillcrest of Wayzata. They did not have enough staff and aides. It was rundown, and they needed some cleanup. It never felt really clean, and drawers were falling out of some of the cupboards. It has more of a nursing feel, and it cost us more there than we where we are now. They do have a very good rehab unit, and they had some activities.

Golden Living Comm Reflections in Wayzata was close to the region where my aunt lived for many years. She really liked the neighborhood, so we decided to check it out. The front grounds were well-manicured, as were the surrounding areas in the back. The foyer was lovely with a receiving area, like what you would find in a mansion. They seem to be able to coordinate just the right amount of care necessary on an as-needed basis. The assisted living centers and communities are nice for individuals unable to live with total independence, but who still can get around well enough on their own. Should their needs change, the facility can accommodate that as well. The dining areas were nice and the food choices healthy. Everything we saw looked deliciously prepared. Snacks were plentiful and are offered many times during the day. Activities ranged from traditional exercise and recreation to cultural and intellectually stimulating fun things to do. All of the residents appeared to be well-occupied, content and well-cared for. Most importantly, the staff seemed kind and caring to everyone who lived there.

This facility was better than most. My grandma lived here the last 3 years of her life. The care takers were very friendly, and always made her feel special and us feel welcome. They were flexible when the whole family would want to visit, or hold a dinner at their facilities. They took a personal interest in their patients. We had been through at least about 3 other facilities before deciding on this one, due to its better performance. They made it feel like a real home for my grandma, and made her last years very happy. We would recommend this facility (however, I should mention their food isn't that great!)
