The staff has been so welcoming and sweet to my mom. Knowing that she has people like that around her makes this new part of her life easier. They have gone above and beyond for her. Communication is really outstanding as well. Any questions or concerns I have had have been dealt with quickly and effectively. She is very pleased with her new home. She feels welcome, happy and most importantly safe. Her apartment is spacious and bright and the food is very good.

I liked New Perspective | Waconia a lot, but they weren't sure if they had enough skills for my friend. They didn't have any openings and she would have a shared room at the time. I was very impressed with the facility. They had a lot of activities. The staff was very positive. Everybody was smiling. I liked them a lot. I wanted to go there. The food looked very good. The facility was new and clean. Everything was good about it. There's a separate room for making quilts and things that they enter into the county fair. They had separate rooms for a lot of things. They had another room for drawing and art and stuff.

More training is needed for staff and nursing on the aging brain, dementia, and the agitation and impulsivity that goes along with this.

I did a tour of New Perspective Waconia. I like how big the rooms were. They were very clean and very friendly. It was nice. The layout was really nice. The room we were shown was really close to the main room, kitchen, and things like that. They showed me the library and several rooms. It's a large place, and I didn't see the top five floors. The dining area was nice, large, and clean. There wasn't anyone there at the time. They have a salon, a library, and several lounges to gather. I did see a pool table. There's a computer area and things like that. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. My husband was on crutches, so the staff found us a room that was close by. He knew what he was talking about; he's been around there. During the tour, the feeling was that it's very welcoming. I really liked the size of the room. It was very nice. It was just the cost that kind of shocked us. Maybe they could lower the cost.

My mother-in-law was recently moved into the Memory Care unit (one of two units at the facility). We have been very pleased with the attractive decor, friendly and attentive staff, great food (according to the resident), and home-like environment. The extra areas are a wonderful plus: the living room, the dining room, the small lounge area down the hall, and the fabulous sunroom/patio area (4 season use). My mother-in-law is settling in and reports that the staff are "all very nice." We feel that my mother-in-law is well cared for in a wonderful setting.

I've been in New Perspective | Waconia. I was there previously and it was very nice. I was in the independent living section, and I had a broken hand. The food was good. The staff was very personable.

Our experience with New Perspective Waconia, so far, has been excellent. The staff is excellent. My mother has a little apartment that has a little kitchen, living room, and bathroom. It has everything she needs. Their dining area is a nice, big, open room, and they sit 6-feet apart. They got pretty much anything, sewing, drawing, and arts and crafts, whatever, they have it. She said the food is excellent, and they feed her very well. They come and clean once a day.

New Perspective has so many amenities for women. They have quilting class, cards, Bingo, crafts, games, pool, and exercise classes. There are just so many things. We have a very nice little apartment, a little living room and kitchen combined, and a nice-sized bedroom and bath. I just don't like their food at all.

My wife is at New Perspective. She is in the treatment center on the first floor for memory care because she has dementia, and I rent a studio apartment upstairs on the second floor. They're very good, very attentive, and their staff is well trained. I'm really impressed with it. It's very good. They seem to like their jobs. They serve three meals a day and the food is very good. It's a bargain.
