Arbor Terrace is exceptionally well cared for. The staff is very, very accommodating and very experienced. They have great activities and specialized care for specific issues. The rooms are very, very nice and clean. They're nicely decorated and they allow you to bring your own personalization into it, which is very important for memory care. The food is great. It's prepared daily and it's fresh. They have people making the food in the unit and they go to a central dining room area, or they can eat in their room either way. My mom, so far, has nothing but compliments about the food, which for her, is incredible. The big thing about the place is how well they work with the family and try to make it a very comfortable place for everyone who visits and for the residents. They have arts and crafts and they have a chapel where they do religious services. My mom is a Roman Catholic and they have a rosary there every day, so that's nice for her. The other couple of places I looked at didn't come near to that.

We've chosen Arbor Terrace. What we liked the best, was the safety, and the level of care. We got a one-bedroom deluxe. One bedroom with a small kitchen and a small living room. The staff seemed very knowledgeable, friendly, and they seemed good. They have a happy hour, and they have musicians there when we visited one time. It's close to the clinic, and they had a good reputation for good quality care.

We visited Arbor Terrace Senior Living. We looked at an independent apartment, and you could add things on to your independent situation. You could get services like meals in the dining room (if you needed), housekeeping, or laundry. It was very nice. The apartment was smaller sized, but that's what my mom was looking for. It was considered a one-bedroom, which was kind of open to a little living room. She was going to eat her meals in the dining room, if we had to move there. The room just had like a little kitchenette type of thing with a refrigerator and a microwave. It had a small stove if you wanted to cook. It was very nice and it was totally remodeled, so it had brand new cupboards. Everything was brand new. They had a lot of open areas for people to gather, a lot of community rooms, a lot of activities you could join in, and a nice dining room. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The residents we spoke with when we were going up and down an elevator seemed very happy. They said, "We like it here a lot." There's a calendar of activities in the elevator. I know they had a lot of different music. They had church. They had bingo, lots of card games, and arts and crafts. Most of those people were independent, so a lot of them were driving. They went out and about on their own, too.

I toured the Arbor Terrace Senior Living. What I like best is as my mother fails, they're going to continue to keep her. They won't push her out the door. It was amazing. I met other employees, and I was welcomed very nicely. It has a clean, safe, and friendly environment. It's two miles from where I live, it's within two miles of St. Mary's Mayo clinic, and it's right in the area where you can get anything you need.
