I visited Oakland Assisted Living. I thought it was very nice but I don't know if I'm in denial but I didn't think it was for me because all my friends are in Wright County and we're getting to the point where none of us drive. I did like it though and if I got drastically ill I would go there. Being a person of independence I had a little qualms about sharing a bathroom but it was only two people in one bathroom so I do believe it would be workable, otherwise, that was a beautiful home. Beautiful setting. Very nice.

The tour I had at Oakland Assisted Living went OK. It was good, but it wasn't what we were looking for. It was a regular house, so it was OK. I saw a one-bedroom and it was very small. The staff was very nice.

We visited Oakland Assisted Living. It was very clean and very nice. It was a beautiful home. The clients there seemed very happy. It was really big. The people that run it are very nice, although they don't speak very good English. So, I feel that would be a barrier for my mom. She can barely understand English herself, but she's got hearing issues. So, I think that would be a barrier for her. But they offer so many different things in psychiatric care, pharmacy care, mental health, and physical therapy. They got a skilled nurse. They got all sorts of people that come in and do stuff for the clients. Their price, they said would be at least $800. The person who gave me the tour, Faith, was very nice. They prepare the meals there. In terms of suggestions, they could have more staff, but the lady and her husband do a very good job, I believe.
