Mom is currently at Lilac Homes Enhanced Assisted Living Memory Care. It's a homey environment with caring and attentive staff. Their food is fine. They have a patio and community areas, but it's a smaller facility. For the activities, there's usually bingo and things like that going on, but maybe a little more variety would be good. Mom's getting a little sick of bingo. The small atmosphere was appealing to us, and the owners take a real active role in the residents.

The feeling of family is strong here; they are literally taking in their residents as family and welcoming their patient’s extended family as their own as well. When you come into the main room and see the familiar faces that are content because they are in their safe place it brings a sense of them being at home

The rooms were a nice size and very comfortable. Could bring in their personal items as needed or wanted. Lighting was good and always kept clean . Nice large bathroom as well. Staff went above and beyond for the patient as well as family members. If we were there over a meal time we were always offered food. What I ate was always good. My sister thought food was good.

My name is Jim Ellingson. About five years ago I was contacted by the Social Security office of Fargo North Dakota. A Social Security officer asked if I would become a payee representative for Social Security. I agreed. The person I support lived on his own in his home for a few years. One day he experienced a serious fall, he was hospitalized and then spend 2 months in a rehabilitation facility. It became time for us to find another facility that offered memory care. So, I called friends whose loved-ones are or had been in memory care. After four such calls, one of the persons I contacted was so positive about his mother’s care and guidance at Lilac Homes of Dilworth, Minnesota. We went there to interview and felt this facility was a great match for this person I was assisting. Here are a few reasons; I observed the appearance of the facility was clean, the residents appeared well taken care of, the staff was kind and caring to the residents. We were provided a very specific booklet outlining the cares and frequency of cares that would be provided weekly. Examples for this person’s needs include care for his sore knees, help with toileting, personal care, help with ambulation, reminders related to his memory needs and very importantly the encouragement he receives daily to participate in the many varied activities offered to him. I have observed the care that he is receiving is not only caring but is in a safe environment. Each of these examples are essential to his daily personal well-being. Recently we were invited along with other friends and relatives to partake in a spaghetti dinner with all residents. It was a joyful experience to get to know other residents and their friends and relatives. I thank my neighbor frequently for his strong recommendation of Lilac Homes. Sincerely, James Ellingson

My mother with dementia was there for over 2 years. The staff and Gina were wonderful with her. They have all sorts of activities and church every Sunday. I believe it was a Godsend for our family. If you are looking for a truly caring facility, Lilac is the place.

My father was at Lilac Homes for 1 year and 1 day. 1 was there 99% of his time every single day. Food was amazing, staff was amazing and very attentive to every single need of his. I've referred several people to their facility. Couldn't have taken care of him alone. They were soooo kind.

I love the small family feeling Lilac gives to their residents and their families. So many smiles every time I visited, which is daily. The nursing staff was easy to talk to and readily available whenever I need them. Many thanks for all the care for our mother.

My mother lived at Lilac Homes Memory Care for almost 5 years in building #2 on the Moorhead campus. The facility was brand new. Gina, the owner operator served as her Primary Care Provider. Gina is a Certifiied Registered Nurse Practioner. Our mom had special care needs. Gina taught her staff how to provide and manage for the care our mother needed. She also found the right medical supplies needed for her to function at a high level. The staff provided compassionate care for my mom. I visited my mom regularly and often at Lilac. I have nothing but good to say about Gina, her staff, and the loving care my mom was provided. The care provided at Lilac Homes Memory Care is and was exceptional for my mom and the other residents, when she was there, and when I visited. I have the utmost respect for Gina, and her staff at Lilac Homes. Lilac Homes always went above and beyond the level of care needed. In addition to the great care the facility provides, they also have at least two activity directors, who coordinate recreational activities and interaction with the residents. They go above and beyond their call of duty, and are some of the most caring, attentive, kind and ingenious people I know. My family and I are eternally greatful to all of them for the care they provided.

LILAC HOMES a few years ago had good care but has declined greatly. There is minimal care , quick and minimal interactions with staff and residents. Staff brings their own ipads to be on , or their phones. There is no accountability when concerns are brought. To their attention, they say retraining will be done but is not done and somethings can't be retrained. THEIR is no leadership for staff . I would not recommend this facility for someone you care about as this establishment is lacking in every area.

A family member was a resident there. When I visited there were several things I noticed that I would consider sub-par care. On more than one occasion, I witnessed meds given to patients in med cups and staff walking away without insuring that the resident actually took the meds. To further raise concerns, I found pills on the floor in the community room. Someone obviously didn’t get their meds and to think that another resident or visitor (particularly children)could pick them up and ingest them! The staff was more interested in what was on their personal phones than interacting with the residents. I would think twice before using this facility unless they can verify changes in caring for their residents.

I visited Lilac Homes Enhanced Assisted Living Memory Care. It was newer construction, has good light, and it was outside of town, so it wasn't noisy. The rooms were very nice, and how they were arranged was nice. The person who gave me the tour was very knowledgeable. She was the woman that started it up. A very caring and very nice lady. The rooms were nice sized. Inside the facility, it was laid out nicely, but I don't think they could get outside.

I would recommend Lilac Homes. It has just been opened so it is new, fresh, and clean, and it doesn't feel old or rundown. We met with the administration staff, and I thought they were good, knowledgeable, and helpful. It's very nice, and it's kinda tucked in a growing residential area.
