My dad loves the staff at GracePointe Crossing Cambridge. He says they'll do anything and go out of their way to make sure he's comfortable and I can't ask for anything more than that. He hasn't complained about the food, there's a lot of times that things are really good, so that's good. The facility is very nice. It's a newer place, so it has got modern furnishings, lighting, fireplaces, it's just a really nice place. He has a little refrigerator in his room and they let him bring in things from home. So he's got his own Lazyboy chair, clock, and pictures on the wall. They have a lounge area where he can go though, I don't know if that's open right now with COVID running rampant. But it's a very lovely facility, and very expensive, ridiculously expensive.

GracePointe Crossing had a big entryway when we came in. The building itself was nice. They had a beautiful lounge. They had a bistro there, a chapel, a game room, and a huge library. But the apartment had a very small kitchen, you hardly had room to turn around. Outside the campus was nice and well-maintained. The gal that took us around was wonderful. She did an excellent job. She has contacted us since just to let us know how far down the list we are. The building was not so overly big, but you stand in the hall when you get out of the elevator and you kind of go around the corner. You look at that long hall and you can hardly see the end of it. For somebody with a walker or a cane, that could be hard for them.

I went to GracePointe Crossing for an interview, and I was very impressed with it. It was very nice. Because it was so big, it was a little bit overwhelming for my dad. The person that helped us was awesome. The cleanliness was great. They had restaurant style eating, which means they don't necessarily just eat whatever everyone else eats; they get to pick, which I thought was interesting. Family can also just pick what they want to eat and eat there, too. I just learned this from interviewing. My folks haven't lived there or anything like that, but they did take us for a tour. It was very nice. I went to the assisted living and the memory care.

My parents are now situated in an assisted living at GracePointe. They are settled in and doing well. It is a very large community. They have independent living apartments for seniors, they got the assisted care with what care they need, and they have a nursing home. It encompasses all of those facilities. The staff seems to be very caring. They really help the residents a lot. The meals seem to be excellent, too. It has been very positive. They have church services and bingo, a theater if they want to watch movies, there is a library available, and they have little ice cream socials. There are plenty of different activities; however, the place is very large. Because of the bigness of it, it is sometimes a little bit difficult getting to and from different places.

We are not unfamiliar with GracePointe. My son-in-law's mother was there for several months before she passed away. The assisted living is fairly new. I know it has just been redecorated. We like the looks of it. It is close. My daughter lives in Mora, which is not too far away. Most of the ones that we had originally made reservations to look at were a little bit too far for our family to go. Actually, everything looked pretty new, and the rooms were well-designed and reasonably sized. In some of the ones local here, the rooms were much smaller and they didn't have quite as many facilities as this one does. GracePointe seemed to be well-organized and well-managed. They have something that we haven't found a lot of at other places: their dining room is a restaurant-type dining room. During the week it is open from 11:30 to 6, and you can go in at anytime, and every meal you can order from a menu, just like you do in a restaurant. So it is very convenient. Also, they have a lot of activities and a lot of people Our only problem is that they are full at the moment. However, I would recommend them to others.

My mom is at Grace Pointe Assisted Living. We chose it not only because it is closer to my husband and myself, but it provides rides to dialysis that she has to go through three times a week and also to all her doctor appointments. The staff is very wonderful and accommodating. There are great people out there. She loves her one-bedroom apartment. They have two meals a day, and she loves it. She goes down for bible studies, and they have other activities, like bingo.
