My Mother was in Memory Care for 4 years before she passed. Alzheimer's can change a person and the staff were already ready to help, distract and ensure her comfort and safety. I genuinely felt that there were staff there that really cared about her as a person. "Minnesota Nice" is not a myth!

We chose Ecumen North Branch for my father. My dad will have his own apartment with his own bathroom and bedroom. It gives him a little bit more independence. The staff was very helpful. I saw their chapel and dining hall. The upkeep looked really good. They are going to freshly paint my dad's apartment before he moves in.

I liked the location of Ecumen North Branch because it was so close to me. The apartment that I was shown was more than satisfactory as far as the layout, as well as the safety bars put up in the bathroom and such. I liked that they offered wi-fi. The cellphones worked in the building. You didn't have to have a special carrier or a special cellphone. I liked the attitudes of the staff, their approach, and their philosophy. The common room and dining area were very adequate and appeared to be very roomy and bright. The facility was very clean and odor free. I did see some people playing checkers or chess. I did see some people just chatting in the coffee area. They were showing a movie in the chapel area, so that was good to know that they have that as an entertainment aspect.

Inconsistent, too much turnover, lack quality. Many time dangerously low staff. Never really fix a problem. Leadership stinks. Those that are qualified rarely step in to help. No personalized care or attention to detail. Get a camera, it will be a blessing. Food stinks. Building and apartments are nice but they are smoke and mirrors. Good care is just not there. Handful of staff are excellent.

Ecumen North Branch is very nice, open, airy, and felt more like independent living versus assisted living. My father's room is very nice. It's a 1-bedroom with full kitchen, living room, and large handicap accessible bathroom. The staff has all been very good and very helpful. I've eaten there, and there's a lot of variety in the lunch menu.

The rooms and dining area at Ecumen North Branch were very nice. The facility and the staff were very welcoming. It’s very clean. They have an activity director and a calendar of the daily activities posted at the elevator.

My mother-in-law is in The Villages at Ecumen. We don't think she's getting the care for the amount of money that she has to pay each month. She had been in there once before after a surgery and rehab. I it's okay. Everything is clean. I guess the biggest issue is the number of employees in the evening. She was having a stroke and they did not even want to call 911. They had to talk to a supervisor, and that didn't make us happy. I think there are two staff members for 48 residents at night. I hope I never have to be in any of these facilities because I don't think that the care for the amount of money that you spent is worth it.
