My parents are now in Maranatha. They're in long-term care. It's really nice. It looks newer, but I know it's not. The rooms are well-kept. Each floor of their long-term care has a big middle area with wood floors where they eat, but then there's like a lounge area with couches and a big TV. If they want to hang out with other people that live on their floor, they can. The long-term care is three floors. On the third floor where my parents actually are, they have like an activity room, and there's lots of activities. It just seems inviting. The staff are really good. When my sister and I call in to see how they're doing or because we're worried about something, they simply just jot it down in their chart and then just take care of it. If we wanted my mom to have a haircut once a month or my dad to get shaved every two weeks, it was just simply like put it in the chart. My parents say the food is OK. One of the reasons we brought them there was because we could get them together, so they have a shared room. Each person has a bed, a dresser, a desk, a chair and their own bathroom. In the middle between the two, they share a mini fridge, a sink, and cupboards. They kind of set up one of the halves of the room like a bedroom and the other half like a living room.

My mother moved into Maranatha. The facility is very good, but some of the staff members are not responsive. I was there today and we needed some assistance getting my mom up, but no one ever came, so my brother and I got her up. I'm not happy with that. Everything else is good though. The food is good, the room is adequate, it's clean, and they have a lot of activities. My mom doesn't participate in a lot, because she's not able to. They don't have enough staff, and they're not responsive.

My mother moved into Maranatha. Theyre attentive, they keep me informed, they call me, and I dont feel I have to go there every day to check up on her. Menu it looks very balanced and good, and you can ask for anything different. My mothers appetite isnt what it used to be. They check on her, they gave her a shower the other day, she looks better, feels better, and they have people come in to see her and ask her questions. She has a private room, she has her own bathroom and shower, and thats nice. It looked like they have regular activities scheduled from the events calendar. Its just that my mom cannot participate in them.

Do not place your loved one hear unless they are independent! My 91 year old aunt was in the skilled nursing area and took a turn for the worst. WStaff is very uneducated on end of life care. They knew she was dying, family was all there and they never came to check on us, 02 tank was empty for who knows how long, we repeatedly asked for a call to the doctor for comfort meds, they never did. We finally called hospice who came right away but we were out of time. After she passed nobody came to say they were sorry for our loss, in fact nobody came at all even after we informed them of her death. Very disappointed.

Most of the staff at Maranatha Care Center was OK. The nursing assistants were good, but there were a couple of LPNs that weren’t very attentive. They need to be better about answering colleagues on a timely manner. The community was beautiful, really nice, and very clean. The room was very nice and spacious and didn’t feel like it was packed in.

Maranatha was very nice, but you have to move into a two-bedroom and live with somebody else. It could be up to two years before you could get into your own apartment by yourself. I really didn’t like that. The rooms and dining area seemed good. We didn’t get to sample the food, though. They had a lot of activities, that’s for sure. The community is very expensive.
