Covenant Living of Golden Valley Assisted Living and Memory Care is an amazing place because across the street sort of on the same campus, they have the skilled nursing care and the nursing homes. So if somebody needs assisted living, memory care, and a nursing home, they're the first priority on all those lists to get into the place. When we went there, they were kind of decorated for the Olympics, and it looked very welcoming. They had like a gift shop, a pool, and a hot tub. The exercise staff met us, and they showed us a weight room. They customize physical activity depending on what level the resident can do so that they can get a lot of exercise. They had like a miniature golf set up and a basketball hoop indoors where people could play. I felt like they also catered to the families that would come and visit there. Let's say you have younger kids, there was some different stuff they could do, too. They had a fountain where the courtyard where families could have a picnic outside. They kind of thought of everything, but of course, the price tag was a lot higher. It was probably the most expensive, but there's a lot of amenities that you get along with it. They were also redoing some of the units. We couldn't see one of the units because they were in the process of painting and remodeling it. So they seemed to update the facility a lot. The staff who gave the tour was very observant because he could tell that my mom was kind of tired from all the walking and touring that day. And so he offered to push my mom in a wheelchair, so she didn't have to do all that walking because it is a pretty big campus. I just thought he seemed very in tune with his clients and the fact that he offered that was nice. The food looked amazing, too. There were multiple different choices. They have formal dining, casual dining, and a canteen line. I couldn't say anything negative about the place. But it was very expensive. You have to be pretty affluent to be able to afford to live in a place like that. The one convenient thing is that my mom could drive around a block and get to her dialysis center from there.

Covenant Living of Golden Valley Assisted Living and Memory Care was very nice. The room was a little bit bigger. It's in the process of being refreshed, so it's a bit in turmoil. The staff didn't seem to be very many and not as friendly as they were in the previous visits. With regards to cleanliness, the new area that we saw that was remodeled was very refreshing. The atmosphere was not quite as welcoming, but it was very nice. There were a lot of areas for people to congregate. And we like the size of the room and the layout.

The memory care at Covenant Living of Golden Valley was a separate building with its own little courtyard. So, it was a lot smaller, but then it's also a smaller facility over there. They have a lot of nice features, things that would help anyone, like a beautician to do hair and woodworking for men. It seems like there's a lot of activities planned for people and that they're well organized. The facility looked very nice and very well kept. We visited with Willie and he was a very nice person, very knowledgeable, and very helpful. There was interaction as we passed by with the other people that work there, too. So, it seemed like everyone enjoyed their job and was enjoying what they were doing. We saw three or four dining areas. We looked at the menu and they had a lot of options. They told us that if there is anything on the menu that someone does not like, they serve the breakfast items all day long, so no one should go hungry. Everything was prepared on site, which was a huge plus. It's not container food.

Mom also really liked it, but it was really massive, and she felt it was too fancy for her. The people were really friendly. There was a lot to do there, which was one thing I really liked about it. Going to the dining room was like going to a restaurant. It was huge. They had a pool for water aerobics. It was absolutely beautiful. The only thing she did not like about it was the buy-in. It was extremely well maintained, and it was so inviting. They had a little café where people can go and get coffee. The staff was very open to questions and were very friendly.
