This facility is awesome. The staff are kind, loving and caring. They go to great lengths to make sure the residents are well-cared for in such a positive manner. Everything is kept spotlessly clean. We have a relative there and every time we visit, we are so impressed with the high level of care and upbeat attitude of the staff. These people know how to deal with dementia patients and help families make the transition, which is stressful for anyone, most of all the patient. They have exercise classes, music classes, special concerts and holiday events for the residents and if families want to attend, they can. Meals are appropriately fixed and very appetizing for the residents and they can have snacks whenever they need/want. Residents rooms are plenty large enough and have their own bathroom/shower facility. Our relative took her own furniture (except for the bed) and so it felt more like "home" to her. But every wing also has it's own common area with dining room, den, and TV/lounge area. This is the best dementia care facility in Ann Arbor!

We chose Huron Woods for my mother. I think they are a little short-staffed because when I call them, there is not always someone there to answer the phone. Their actual care is very good.

My mother is a resident at Huron Woods and has been for a number of years now. Continually, the staff is remarkable in day after day showing great care, compassion, active intervention when needed, and good communication with the family. Their life enrichment programs are exceptionally good!!!! The households of 12 residents keeps things on a more personal level for interacting with other residents and families of residents. It is truly a welcoming and caring place. They also are good at offering spiritual support for residents and family members. I unreservedly recommend this home for anyone dealing with dementia - it is a gem!!

We visited Huron Woods in Miichan while searching for a suitable assisted living facility for my friend's mom. There was a lovely enclosed patio courtyard with flower and vegetable gardens and other beautiful areas. The foyer was nicely decorated and seemed homey, as did all of the communal rooms. The apartments were all clean, well-kept and conveniently designed. They take the time to personalize to each resident's tastes. The activity calendar features many healthy and stimulating activities. We liked that the staff encourages participation and tries to make everything interesting for its residents. They have outings to local libraries, events, culture, restaurants, shopping and even athletic activities. They take suggestions to update the schedule as much as possible. The dining areas were nicely designed and warm. Residents may choose communal dining or more private situations. The food looked deliciously prepared, as well as nutritious. The dietician and chef changes up the menu to keep it interesting and encourages residents to make suggestions. There were also plenty of common spaces like the atrium, chapel, beauty shop and family cafe, which set this facility apart from others we've seen. We've visited quite a few assisted living facilities and thus far, the staff at this one are some of the most competent and friendly we've met yet.
