Villa at City Center is very clean, and they're remodeling so everything looks very nice and new. The dinette is also very nice, and there are plenty of nurses so I'm glad. The staff is very good, they have a specialist, physical therapy, and they also have aides that come to help when I'm not there. The nurses are more than nice. She had a sore from the last place she's been, but it has cleared up now.

My husband was at Villa at City Center. There wasn't enough staff. The facility was clean. The staff was nice, but my husband's roommate was accusing my husband of things that I know he didn't do. Maybe because they weren't getting any attention from family or friends, and my husband gets a lot of visits, and we had a birthday party for him, so they accused him of different things. From my observation, when I was there, they were being mean toward my husband. He was shifted around there, and then he was taken out and put into another facility. I was not happy with the Villa at City Center because of what they did. They didn't give me any warning, and all of a sudden, they moved my husband to another facility, which is the worst place. The building itself was nice. They had a lot of activities, too.

My cousin has been at Villa at City Center for a month now. Occasionally, I visited her there, and it seems to be pretty nice. They are wearing masks and making sure the residents keep their masks on when they are out in the hallways. Her room is adequately sized for one person. She has her own shower and bed. You can bring your own TV and chairs. When I was visiting her, we got stuck in the elevator. It was not a good thing because we were there for almost 45 minutes. It took them that long to get us out of there. The staff is really good with her. They are on a first name basis with the patients, and they seem to be cooperative with them. She is comfortable with the people who are taking care of her. She had a cut, and the staff didn't know about it until I told them. They didn't notice it. She doesn't like the food that much, so that's why I take her out whenever I can to get food or bring her food. She eats a little bit better now. The facility is clean, and it's not smelly.

This is not a place you want to put your love one in. Don't bring clothes you expect the patient to keep, the facility loses or others wear their clothing. They do not clean the patient thoroughly, knowing they have a visitor daily. Patient comes out to visit w/o mask consistently. Patients don't have wheelchairs with leg rests, feet drags. I over heard one patient state he has no air conditioning in his room so he stays in the hall, st this time MI weather was 90 degrees + daily. Catheter stayed in over 30 days without being examined or removed. Doctor put on documents wrong diagnosis, had not talked with patient's primary doctor. Appears Director & Assistant Director of Nursing are young, don't know what they are doing, and only wants a check. This facility is always short of help Can't say what the rooms are like, they don't allow visitors pass the dining area. I've seen employees not having mask on properly. They are sad!!!

During this time of not visiting our family member it is very sad to hear that they are not getting meals on time, getting help to go to the restroom or get changed in their bed since they are bed ridden and also not getting help with they push their help button and have to wait over 30 minutes if not longer. Also when you have a room mate that they can't get help to attend to the issues in the room.

The facility did a lot of work on the cosmetics, but have not invested in their employees. The Employees that they are getting from an agency or pool are worthless. They are getting rid of their seasoned Employees that know the patient's diet, medicine and personal limits. If I was not in my Mother's room when the new Nurse came in she would have given my Mother an insulin shot and my Mother is not a diabetic. When the facility was Bortz they took care of the patients and Employees. Villa at the City Center needs a new set of caring people to run this facility, they are running it down to the ground. They have new chairs but for who? All the patients have their own chairs to sit in, so that money spent was useless, in the summer there's a puddle in front, the furnance & elevator works at times and the windows needs to be replaced. The patient care WASso lovely.

I transfered my father from another nursing home - name not to be mentioned - for providing the wrong meds. Because of my experience I was hestiant of how my mom would be taken care of. I was very impressed with the service provided by her aid Carol. Thank you Bortz!
