Older facility, but clean. Short-staffed, but as a general rule, the staff was “gold!” They were caring, accessible, personable, treating Mom as family. Shoutout to Prisca, Rachel, Shontae, PJ, Samir, and traveling nurse Tamika, among others!

My mother was at Aberdeen Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center for 3 weeks. Our overall experience was above average. The service provided was a very quality service. The nursing staff there was attentive for the most part, and they were caring, friendly, and kind. They were good to us and they took good care of my mom. The rest of the staff was very professional, kind, friendly, and supportive. The building itself was older. Aesthetically, it was not modern per se, but it was very clean and had no odors. The floors were clean and the rooms were clean. They prepared good meals in good portions.

My father needed "rehabilitation" care after being discharge from Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital. He needed physical therapy to strengthen his muscles to walk with his walker again. A social worker at HFHW gave my mother a list of "rehabilitation/nursing care facilities" that had available beds. Aberdeen Nursing Home was one of the "rehab facilities" a bed. My father was admitted to Aberdeen and within 3 weeks he had developed a sacral bedsore, gangrene to toes on both feet, large skin tear to his elbow with swelling to the entire arm. He had fallen out of bed 3 times that mom was informed of, not sure how many more times that were not reported. He was found by my uncles laying on the floor in just a depends and said he had been on the floor all night. He was not taken for evaluation and/or x-rays at the ER as is protocol. My mother had had enough and had my father taken to HFWH ER for evaluation. He was admitted with, a fractured rib, gangrene of toes on both feet, sacral ulcer, multiple skin tears, sepsis and was having difficulty swallowing. He was put on home hospice and died one week after he was taken out of Aberdeen Nursing Home. If you love your family member, do not take them to this nursing home. This has left my mother with such guilt because she believes that she hastened his death by admitting him there. Terrible care at Aberdeen did!!!!! If this is your first nursing home experience you will probably not like it. It was our 5th home. We were so happy with the care our family member received. Yes, we had a couple bad apples, you will get that anywhere. The staff is always interacting with the residence. Medications were delivered in a well scheduled routine. The food was fine and they always offered something to replace. Snacks were brought around two times a day. Residence and the rooms are kept clean. Our family member was very happy and made a lot of friends at Aberdeen. Thank you.

The service elevator has been out for six months. They don't seem to care to fix it. You can't use the stairs as there is a an alarm that will go off. Once you're upstairs you have to have assistance to leave because you have to have a key to use the elevator so if you're in a hurry to leave to work you possibly might end up being late. There's been times when even this elevator has been out of order and there is NO working elevator in this building. If a fire or some other emergency was to come it would be a tragedy!

No offense but this place is a dump!!! It smells like a 100 year old home... MUSTY... understaffed... not enough electrical outlets... not enough medical equipment... not sanitized… Came home for different times with the stomach virus in a six-month.… Within two hours-12 later was sick... even though I wash my hands and use hand sanitizer… I can't be a coincidence… upstairs is a fire hazard… You can't leave unless you have assistance... you can't use the stairs... Service elevator out of order… So only one elevator working… If there's a fire someone's going to lose there life... no snack machine… And soda machine sometimes is empty… many other ridiculous things going on here…This place is a joke…

Paula the social worker is an absolutely amazing lady!Even though she is very busy she makes time for family members and the residents and makes sure the needs and concerns are addressed, she also is very patient and never rushes you .With her being there I know my mom is safe.

I walked in and saw many people sitting in the lobby talking about wanting to go into the dinning room, while touring the facility I noticed a lot of concern and attention to other patients who were in the hall, and in rooms being addressed and talking with the staff. the staff knew their names, patients knew their staff it was very encouraging. I am looking for a long term for my Mom and was very concerned but not anymore.

My mother was there for a month, after she fell and broke her ankle. The rehab was fabulous. They really did a great job. While many of the nurses were wonderful, the majority seemed as if they didn't care. The food was horrible. My mom and another patient were discussing what they had for dinner one evening, and both said they had to look at the menu to find out what it was they had been served... turns out it was chicken. My mom developed a severe UTI, and instead of treating her for dehydration, the doctor waited for the test results to come back. We took her out of there in an ambulance to the hospital.
