My mother stayed here short term twice and loved it! She’s doing a couple weeks coming up and is looking forward to it. She says the food is good. Staff seem friendly and my mother is happy with them. Thank you very much for some much needed respite. Continue doing what you do!

My mother went to MediLodge of Shoreline for respite care. It was a very nice place. They take good care of your loved ones. My mom said the food was OK. They do have quite a bit of activities, but my mom chose not to participate. It's a nice, trusting place to take your loved ones to.

It was the worst experience of my life.the rooms was dirty. In the bathroom was small bugs crawling around in them. The first weekend a half I made my own bed from my wheelchair. When it come to the food , it was far from eatable. I was on lasik so uranation was a lot. The nursesade left me in a bed of pee. From midnight till morning sift came on..The night said she will not clean me up all night. The only best part of this place is the PT and OT. Other then that is getting to go home.

The negligence at this facility is terrible. Food quality is very poor. My mother was in a urine soaked bed due to lack of care overnight.

We were at the stage in life when full time care is needed, and Medilodge of Shoreline has been fabulous. Having passed through a few other facilites on this journey, we are so very thankful to the excellent staff, customer relations personnel, management, and food preparation teams. Every step has been above what we had previously experienced and Joe is happy and feels at home and accepted.

My father is here right now. No one can answer my questions as to why his belly and legs are suddenly swollen and no one knows how to help get him on to a toilet?!?!?!?!?!? Staff yawning while my mother is asking questions. Are you kidding me right now. We are getting him out of here ASAP. UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!

Mother - My mother was here two times, there care was wonderful and they have really caring staff. We had a great experience and would recommend . It's a little older but clean and quality of care exceeds some of the larger corporations.

The facility is clean even though it is old. The room had damaged walls but that was ok. Staff pass by and smile too. The disturbing part was how my aunt was left in her clothes for three days. She didn't have a shower in a week either. Nurses were not answering her call light. They were standing in the hallway most of the shift and often over heard complaining about work. One instance, my aunt asked for help to the bathroom and a half hour later she wet herself because no one came. I arrived during that time and witnessed the nurse snapping at her like she did this on purpose. My aunt was only in the facility for rehab after surgery.

My mother and father were both residents of the Sterling Heights location, at different times during their illnesses. While they were patients at the facility, they received excellent care. Whenever I had a question, it was answered promptly. If the doctor needed to be contacted, it was also done promptly. I visited daily ---- they were always clean and neat. My father loved his "scratch off" lottery cards and one or two would appear weekly....compliments of his caregivers. Mom was 84 and dad was 90 when they passed. When they passed, I had the support of the caring staff with me at the facility and at their funerals.

My Mom was brought here for rehab after spine surgery. She stayed less than a week and we couldn't get here out of there fast enough. As with any of these places, there are a few people who are bright and compassionate, but overall my Mom's health deteriorated rapidly here. Here are just a few things that happened in her short time at Evangelical: Mishandling of prescription meds/delayed delivery several times resulting in severe and unnecessary pain (they were out of her meds so gave her Tylenol instead, and were hostile when questioned about it, then delayed contacting the pharmacist to refill.) No bath/shower given as required, the aid said post-surgery incision care prevented it but the her discharge directive clearly stated "may wash incision gently with soap & water" - the aid just couldn't be bothered to bathe her properly. The final straw was when her two doctors were notified of new/alarming cancer-related symptoms and recommended moving her back to the hospital right away. The director of nursing at Evangelical - who I wouldn't trust caring for a hamster - inexplicably suggested waiting a day, having us drive her in our car to her doctor's office for an appointment and then having them admit her from there. This is a patient who had back surgery the week before, is basically immobile without assistance, and in considerable pain. This director of nursing was then caught in a lie after telling us that it was Mom's doctor who recommended/supported this ridiculous plan. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE.

It was depressing to see all the fragile residents. The place is old and not up to date! Nursing and staff were upset and arguing because they did not know my Mother was arriving. I took my Mother out 3 days later!

The medical part of the rehab/nursing home in this facility was aweful!!! Although constantly requested to do so, the doctor NEVER contacted us to discuss the medical issues my Mother had/developed while in his care. She was there for two month and we NEVER received a call. The Nursing staff, PT/OT and aids/care givers were very good, but their care was undermined by the terrible care provided by the staff doctor. Complaints made little differents with the exception that the nursing staff received a quicker response from him. However, even this slight improvement was offset by the two/three delay turn-around for any medical questions/suggestions we had. I would only recommend this place IF medical attention wasn't really needed!

My father went here for REHABILLITATION. He was fine before he entered this facility. They were over medicating him to the point he couldn't participate in Physical Therapy or progress in anyway. He was Iethargic, nauseous due to medication that he shouldn't have been taking. As soon as I found out that my father was being over medicated I discharged him and sorry to say all they cared about was who was paying the bill not the care my father was receiving. The midnight shift was hiding his call button and making threats if he didn't behave they would no longer come to his room and help him. My father has been home and doing great since he left this AWFUL place. Please be carful where you put your loved ones and who is taking care of your loved ones.

Terrible facility for personal care. My mother had to argue with the staff to give her the necessary doctor prescribed breathing treatments even when she was in repertory distress and couldn’t breathe well at night. I witnessed one attendee that didn’t even know how to turn on an oxygen tank right in front of me. She swore it was on. We had to wait a day to get her prescribed medications and two days to get her medical records from the transferring hospital.

After moving my mother from two other so called "skilled" nursing centers we are very pleased with the care she is receiving at Evangelical--both nursing and therapy. I am a RN and I follow my mother's care and these staff are the best. She is making progress and we have scheduled conferences to review her progress. These nurses do critically think and are very involved with their patients. No short cuts here, they strive to keep her dignity and to encourage her to do more.

My wife was in Evangelical Homes for about a week, for rehab. I wouldn't send my best enemy there. There were a few people there that were nice and did their job but there were a large percentage of people there that were absolutely useless. The sad thing was, my mother was in there about a year and a half ago and I felt the same way when she was there. I was very disappointed in them but at the time they were discharging my wife it was either, she went there or somewhere on 10-mile road when I was on 17-mile road. I spent a lot of time there with her rather than leave her to some of the people there that were too lazy to be competent.

I am very happy with this nursing home. I have been visiting there for the past 3 years. People are very nice and always willing to help. I even had my mother in for rehab and was very satisfied. Very clean home! Not smelly

I'm impressed with this place!! The staff is very kind and generous with their time and talents and there's always some sort of activity for the residents. Residents are out of bed, clean, and dressed each day. The food's plentiful and very tasty and the facility is CLEAN! I just can't say enough good things about Evan - and I'm there visiting everyday so nothing gets by me!!!

I was very disappointed in this facility. Please spend alot of time with the patient in order to be sure they get the care they need! Not nearly enough staff for the number of patients there. Patient's personal hygiene care is terrible. Foor is cold and awful!

We chose Evangelical Homes because the location is close to our home. They have good sized rooms. My mother seems to be doing good and the staff is very good to her. So far I have no complaints.
