Spring Arbor Assisted Living Center is very attractive. It's well kept up, and the staff is very responsive. The activities are a little light; however, they do have a library and exercises. I know my friend is using both of those. Their food is just food, but it's warm. And the dining room is well kept up, and the service is very good. The place is clean. The staff is overall better at Spring Arbor. My friend has had more contact with the nursing staff and medical staff since she's been there.

What I liked about Spring Arbor Assisted Living was it was all on one floor, and they have an outside court area where people are allowed to go outside when they want to. They have a nice outdoor area, a nice deck, and a room with puzzles and games. They would do bingo, they would have people come in and do arts and music or do their hair if they wanted to. I liked the way it was laid out. It was decorated well, and I thought the staff was very nice. They have good sized rooms. My mom was in a room that had a separate bedroom from the living room and a small kitchen. They have a couple of double rooms, too. It was set up quite easily for the residents to remember where they were and how to get to different places. They had a beautiful dining room and a nice library. When you first walked in, there's a big area where people could sit and watch TV if they wanted. I thought it was very nice. It was a good value for the money.

Highly recommend not sending a loved one here! The upper management and nurses were absolutely horrible to deal with. The rates are very expressive for such a poor level of care. The “Alzheimer’s” unit was understaffed and under trained. 16 year old kids should not be working that floor as aids. The state needs to take a look at this care facility because it is horribly miss managed.

The facility was beautifully decorated, but very expensive for the amount of care that was given. Some nurses were very nice and helpful for the patients, but some of the higher authority figures were problematic. Those people seemed more interested in the money rather than the level of care provided. The activities were nice and the facility seemed cleaner than the usual assisted living facility. I would have rated it higher, but the head nurse at the time was the main source of our problem with the facility. There was a decent staff to resident ratio. The food was okay. After an experience with the succeeding assisted living home, I would say this one was better than average; however, in our personal situation, we would not have needed the next assisted living home of this one had not continued to raise the price for a care plan that did not meet my fathers needs at all...he did not have alzheimers disease at all, but they wanted to put him with the Alzheimer's patients, which would have been terrible for him.
