I'm living in Arbor Oaks Living Center. I've been here for two years now. I came in a wheelchair, and I'm using a walker now, so I'm taking care of myself. I clean my own apartment. I take my own medicine. I go for my own walks and stuff. The staff is good, the food is decent. They have Wii bowling. Whoever wants to go, they'll put them on a bus and take them for a ride. They do provide weekly errand runs, which means that if you have had to go shopping for anything, they'll go out once a week. You bring your own furniture and everything.

My mom moved into Arbor Oaks Living Center. She's meeting people her age, so it's been wonderful. The place is clean. Everyone was friendly. She has everything close by to her for convenience, like doctors, grocery stores, pharmacies, and everything. If it's not in the facility, it's close by that she can get on her own. The rooms are nice sized. They have a living room, bedroom, kitchen, and bath. They serve breakfast and lunch every day. There are laundry facilities, a beauty salon, a reading room where people bring in books, a game room, and a big living room where they all share the big screen TV. They have a lot of nice accommodations for everyone. They have another facility across the street that's more like an individual apartment-type building.

We have already placed my parents in Arbor Oaks. First and foremost, I like the staff. I like the presentation, the facilities, the fact that they receive two nourishing meals a day, and that they also support people who have different levels of dementia. Everyone has had vaccines, and my parents have been vaccinated too, so we felt secure in the move-in. As far as the facility, it is very clean. The rooms are very nice and well lit. They have patio doors, and they have one-bedroom apartments available. They have daily functions that the residents can participate in. They have flower-making activities, bingo, and trivia games to keep their minds active. The activities director herself is excellent. We have been following up pretty much daily, and so far, so good. They could improve on updating the facility, and it would be nice for them to have an exercise room. They are clean, but they could use some updates.

I’ve been here at Arbor Oaks Living Center for two weeks. It is exactly what I need. The staff is excellent. They go way out of what’s required and even their family members get involved. My room is excellent. I have a very nice apartment. I have a galley kitchen, a nice size living room, a bedroom and a bath. Arbor Oaks Living Center is a semi-assisted living. It is not pricey. In fact, I’m not paying any more here than I was paying in the independent living situation I was in. Here, two meals are furnished, and they clean every two weeks. We’re very close to the university and those facilities are available to the residents. In their dining area, there are individual tables. There are four seated at the table. The meals are excellent. We are served two meals a day. Once a week, we go on an errand run, e.g., to the bank, to the Dollar Store, to the grocery store, to the pharmacy, and to the post office. We have a beauty shop that serves two days a week.
