My mom stayed in a nursing home at Shelby Crossing Health Campus. They were fabulous. I have no complaints about them. The staff was very attentive and very accommodating. The people were great. Everyone was really accommodating and terrific there. They would call me when my mom was getting a little sick. They did a really good job. I was there every day and for almost every dinner. I thought that the meal service was great. The meals were better than I expected. They have Medicare and Medicaid. They have a library, which is pretty small. They have an area where they have a piano and people would come. They had a little town square type of area. They have a good place where they did rehab in there as well.

My father was there for rehab. This facility was quite a disappointment. First and most important after a few in the middle of the night phone calls for issues and then trying to reach someone early in the morning to re-check my father and the phone just rings and rings to which the directors or heads of certain departments say oh they pic up after 2 rings is a lie. Nightly my family and I witnessed phone ringing that drove us crazy and the same for the patients. My father was not clean there if I didn’t wash him up nightly, remove his dentures to clean them wash his hands, clean the food off his face, shave him I’m not sure anyone would. Also some of the lost clothing that miraculously was found the morning he was leaving (they say not labeled) that’s because I had to keep buying new sweatpants sorry I missed tagging a pair! I had a huge note on his closet that said daughter does his laundry with a bin inside closet for soiled clothes! They had a virus that ran through there a minimum of 5-6 days so they closed dinning room I understand that but the food became sub par awful dry sandwiches for dinner or cold nasty food my father barely ate it was terrible. The tray would have cold fries barely a vegetable. Then let’s talk about cleanliness not good. The l same garbage on my dads floor for over a week, bathroom floor when my father arrived smelled so strong of urine I didn’t want him walking in there. I tried to clean to no avail. The area he sat in daily filthy carpet looked like it was never vacuumed tables full of 1/2 drank cups I’d throw away so dementia or patients who couldn’t remember would not drink on accident. With that virus the tables in there should have been wiped often. I’d wipe so dirty with drink/food spills My dads call button that didn’t work his tv that took over 7-8 days to be fixed. The times elderly people asked for help that I would repeatedly ask someone to help them. Seriously they need to do better. Yes covid ruined things you hear it almost to an excuse now for simply a pat answer to any concerns. So when I voiced my concerns I was met with a stern defensiveness not oh I’m sorry we will try to fix this but a no this doesn’t happen or on defense mode of their nurses. I never once singled out a nurse( which most times you couldn’t get a 5 min update with) the aides were awesome truly compassionate. However question them on any of it they were very defensive. I was told things were not the same there as the past. I was sad for my dad. Quite frankly not even sure what his rehab worked on, I never saw notes. One family member was there during the day and myself at night. Although my family caught the virus from being their daily with him as well. When we had our evaluation meeting and I voiced my concerns they said after he was there 10 days at that point he started two days prior to this making improvement. However post that meeting and my concerns that made them very defensive I received a phone call that my fathers ins coverage said he was done hmmmm?? They say not coincidental but seems a bit unreal. The list goes on and on suffice it to say I would never refer this establishment again. I was told it wasn’t the same and this was disheartening for my loved one.

The studio apartment at Shelby Crossing Health Campus was too small for two people. If you're looking for a small room, I guess it would be excellent, but we weren't looking for something that small. It was clean and it would seem to have everything you would want if you wanted to live in that small of a space. Everybody was very nice professional. They have like a gym, they also had the facilities for exercising and therapy if you need it. There are different areas, you could go to speak with the other residents, or play a game of cards. There's plenty of room to get up and walk around if you wanted to do that. It was very clean and nice.

Shelby Crossing was very good and I liked it, but the move-in fees were quite higher than other places. They have daily activities. I liked their dining services when my mom was there for rehab. They have several selections and alternate menus. They always had at least two choices. The rooms were comparable to other places, and the room size was fairly standard. The place is a little bit older, but it's kept up and clean. Based on our experience, their staff was on top of things.

We didn't really find Shelby Crossing to our liking. It just felt more like a nursing home to us, and it was more care than what my mom needed. Everyone was extremely nice and the facilities were very nice. Everything looked nice, clean, and homey. We were very impressed with the staff members, who were extremely helpful and friendly. I saw them interact with the residents. It was very nice and comforting to know that the people are well taken care of when they get to that point in their life.

Not enough staff on afternoon shift and on the weekends (also poor employee morale). Executive Director does not engage herself with residents and families-concerns are not resolved. Tries to hold families hostage by claiming if they pay in assisted living area for 1 1/2 years they are guaranteed a Medicaid bed when they run out of money. The truth is they cannot make that promise-its a small facility so all nursing care beds may get filled-anyways, each bed is dually certified for Medicaid and Medicare-once you are in a bed using your Medicare they cannot kick you out if you then say you can no longer afford private paying in their assisted living section-management must let you stay right there and assist you with applying for Medicaid.

My family member was here for PT. It took over 24 hours for medications to be administered which means a day and 1/2 without any and this is a cardiac patient with kidney disease. First they tried to blame the primary care dr. Then they tried to blame the hospital - when instead it was a computer glitch at the facility itself. They never ever followed the cardiac diet that was prescribed and gave the excuse that "our cardiac diet is different from the hospital's". Don't bring your loved ones here if they have any secondary health problems. And a dr only visited once in 7 days. Maybe if you are going just for PT it may be ok but if your loved one has to be on any diet or prescribed medications etc RUN and RUN FAST. Very disappointed in this place.

I stayed at Shelby Crossing for total knee replacement rehab. The facility is OUTSTANDING. I cannot believe anyone would write any negativity about their treatment of patients. Any time I needed help, I buzzed and IMMEDIATELY someone was at my door with a warm smile asking what I needed. I was there 2-1/2 weeks and every shift was the same treatment. The campus is IMMACULATE and furnished quite lavishly, even to the dining room. Beautiful tablecloths and napkins (cloth), flowers on the table, and china. The rehab I received twice a day, an hour each time, a.m. and p.m., was outstanding in my overall recovery. If, and when, I ever need another surgery, I will definitely go back to this beautiful, clean, warm personnel facility. Giving this facility a 5 star rating is not enough. I highly recommend staying here as you will never get the rehab needed after hip/knee surgery at home with "visits" as you will at Shelby Crossing. TOP NOTCH rehab room with PTs who know what they are doing.

Very disappointed in the way they took care of my father. My father had to go to the hospital because he was severely dehydrated from not getting enough water to drink. He also tried to get up and go to the bathroom himself because no one would come and help him and fell. He also could never find his call button how ironic. One day while I was visiting my dad, he was up in a wheelchair and was falling asleep and I asked the aid if she could help him put him in bed to take a nap and she flat out said it was too soon and walked out of the room. I was flabbergasted. Again, very disappointed.

We have decided on Shelby Crossing Health Campus. There are doctors on staff, the pharmacy is right there, and they do everything and don't charge extra for it. The staff is awesome, very caring, very outgoing, and get people interested in activities instead of staying in their rooms. They don't have a pool, but I believe they have everything else, and it's all one level with only 40 residents. The rooms are small but adequate. The dining area is awesome, always open, and always has food, fruit juices, and everything there.

This is a very nice facility. The staff is very friendly but there is not enough staff or assistants to help their patients. It is not right that a patient should have to wait over half an hour for assistance into the bathroom., both during the day and especially during the late night hours. Many time I visited my Aunt at this facility to have her tell me there were no assistants to help dress in the morning, to get wheeled to the dining room for meals, that the maintenance men were helping to wheel patients back to their rooms because the facility was short on assistants. Having the physical therapist helping patients to get dressed, which cuts short therapy time for patients.

I really liked Shelby Crossing Health Campus. It’s a new and very nice facility that allowed pets. The rooms didn’t have a bad smell and seemed to be very well maintained.

I know any feedback is good as elder parents and their situations can leave you feeling hopeless. We moved my father in 2+ months ago after looking at many, many places. While any new place takes getting used to - he likes it quite a bit and the care there is excellent; and they have been excellent at managing his diabetes too! He says the food leaves a little to be desired, but not horrible and the monthly family brunch and the Friday Happy Hours are a great thing for all the family! If you can get into this facility, i would highly recommend it!

Shelby Crossing is an excellent senior care facility. The staff is excellent. they are kind, friendly and very considerate of the seniors. They have regulated my Mother-in-laws medication, gotten her out of the room to participate in activities and are constantly in and out of her room checking on her. her quality of life has improved as a result.

My mother-in-law has lived at Country Neighbors for about few weeks now. She has her own room and she likes it. She seems to be happy there.

My wife got my father-in-law in an assisted living facility called Shelby Crossing. It is a fairly new building and it is decorated very nicely. It is a very nice place and it looks better than a hotel. The staff there seems very good.
